Undiagnosed illneses......

Millions world wide---tens of thousands in the EU and USA alone. After extensive medical and laboratory investigations, having seen many competent nurses and physicians, including those from complementary/alternative traditions, the health profession is clueless as to what plagues these unfortunate folks. Closest we come is to group them into some sort of possibly post infectious or environmental toxicity syndromes, with strong inflammatory, auto immune and possibly epigenetic causes. These are the achey and painy depressed low energy types, those every practitioner dreads having in their surgery. Usually what ails them doesn't kill them, but merely simmers on for years. Often they get turfed to Psychiatrists, typically the hairdressers of medicine. But not always so. Aa.

It is called idiopathic...of unknown origin...no one can say it is all in their head but the diagnostic efforts that patients are subjected to...do not always get the needed answers...

Looking at diet and lifestyle are one of many ways to help figure out what is going on...medicine does not always know the answer...but new technologies will maybe of help...

A holistic approach is key as well...just my opinion...

Right on target, LL. Thanks.
As a person with diagnosed fibromyalgia (as well as some other issues) - I'd strongly encourage taking as natural of a approach to healthcare as much as possible. My doctor is in full support of this approach. Exercise (especially walking - no matter how painful) is also key in helping you overcome some of the issues associated with these illnesses. Things like turmeric for inflammation - activities that keep you moving - acupuncture - massage therapy; these all help. The drugs only mask the symptoms and over time destroy the rest of the body in the process.

To those who think it's all in their head or they're hypochondriacs - if only you had to live our lives for a day, you'd be thankful for being healthy. I wouldn't wish a life like this on anyone. Don't be judgmental towards those who are genuinely suffering everyday for years on end.
Walking helps, but its not just in their heads... So its a leg problem?

I had a great uncle many years ago, his wife died and he suffered the most terrible grief. He became very dull company, only ever talking about his health problems nobody could solve. He'd go from doctor to doctor, changing doctor the minute they suggested lifestyle or mental health... Eventually he found a doctor that would open him up and take a look, and he died shortly afterwards. There was nothing physically wrong with him.
