just a quick blog...for thought

If the light we see from the sun is 8 minutes old, that means the sun we see in our present time is not real?

What else may not be real?

Maybe some fake news. lol

Anyway, happy Saturday night you all.

Interesting theory, Johnny
you are rewriting the physics handbooks.laugh

Einstein claimed that speed slows time and you say time destroys reality. It may have been a lively debate if you were living in the same time. You may even have put him out of business.grin

"Hello Non,

I suspect, as light is traveling to us from the sun....as with the star light that travels to us being 1000's of years old....it allows us to see them.

Because the speed of light is not instantly seen, but takes time to travel, what we see that produces that light is not exactly the same as the present moment. ....because of the time it took for it to reach us.

For example, a star that we see in the night sky, in many cases, is 1000's of years old.

Now if that star exploded in a supernova and no longer exists...we will still see that star in the sky for 1000's of years later....even though it no longer exists."

So let me localise your argument.

You are asking;

Does my car which is parked at work exist,
because my garage at home in which it was parked this morning has just exploded.
laugh rolling on the floor laughing

Light is both a wave and a particle. Sun light It is not directly connected to the sun it is the effect of a reaction happening there.

Just as the car parked at your job is an effect of you driving it there. it is not part of you garage just because it began its journey there.
If I drive my car at the speed of light and turn the lights on, does anything happen?
You have a car that goes at the speed of light.
Pick me up Scotty laugh
I wasn't looking that closely Robert. laugh
Hello Cat,

Time, distance, and light. grin

...just something to ponder is all.

Back then, they may have very well tried locking me up. laugh

cheers
Ah Non....that is a good way of looking at things as well.

So, the sun we see presently, is the exact sun that exist.

That is something that I wonder.

The sun we see is a bright light, with shape. Does that light qualify for the 8 minute travel?

dunno

Tokyo,

That is a good question. What would happen? Would the light beams shine in front of your car?

hmmm

I only read this blog of yours now so it signifies illusory right JOHNNYcheers
Hello Brow...

Yes....it very well might be pointing out the illusions we may take as reality.

dunno

Trying to expand on the possibility of that.
