Be Yourself
It is so easy to spin a yarn to impress somebody but it always backfires. If it requires a lie to be the person that somebody wants you to be, it is doomed to failure; for one lie is never enough. You have to keep lying to maintain all the previous lies and before you know your whole life will be build on lies. You may even believe your own lies in the end but sooner or later the whole card house will collapse.
If you are not what the object of your affections requires you to be, give it up. You can never be exactly what other people want you to be; they will always find fault with it. You will be pretending and that will make you a fake. And sooner or later fakes are always discovered.
Don’t try to change yourself into what others want you to be and don’t expect them to do it; you will be wasting your time with one unsuccessful relationship after the other. Precious time that could have been used to find somebody who likes you just the way you are.
Sure, work on your shortcomings, by all means. Develop and better yourself. Those who can accept you with all your flaws will only like you more if you improve yourself. Widen your horizons but in the directions that you want to go. Don’t allow others to decide what you want to be. Only you know who you really want to be.
Remember, you cannot ever please everybody so please yourself. Those who do not like you as you are not worth your time.

I think this is the reason why many relationships and marriages fail. At some stage you get fed up with pretending. You can only change if you really want to, not because other people want you to.
I've been wondering about the same thing. She appears to be new but she seems blogwise.

the thing is if somebody does not like you the way that you are, he/she does not like you at all. There is nothing you can do to please that person. There will always be something else to change.
I just got out of bed. I thought I'll put the blog up and then have breakfast. As it is I did not get a chance to make coffee yet. but I'm not complaining. Nothing like a good old chat before brealfast.

Catfoot, I'm actually quite worried now. My Arty is scheduled for an eye surgery ( cataract removal ) on one eye and will get the other eye operated on 6 months later. From what I gathered, people that have had this operation done, they could see really clear after that........

Yes, it does not pay to tell a lie to impress somebody. When I was young I lost out on a very nice gal just because I tried to impress her with a BS story, She dropped me like a hot potato when she discovered that I lied to her.
And the irony is that it did not matter to her at all whether I could play the violin or not. And even today I don't know why I told her I could.
Don't worry too much, It is a very standard procedure these days, he'd be just fine.
BTW I saw him on one or two blogs last night before I went to bed.
Lies catch up with us...eventually...dated a cool boy in school...found out he was dyslexic...by his actions not his confession...
He could have saved himself alot of problems being truthful...

Dyslexic people can be very sensitive about their condition. I don't know why because there is no disgrace in it. My ex-wife's sister is dyslexic and she hides it from everybody. Not even I was supposed to know about it. So silly.
Back then there was no name for it...must of thought he was stupid but gorgeous...lol...
He is doing good anyways...has a business in USA...but I think he is born again Christian...some people need it I guess...

Some people need religion in their lives and thrive on it while others just use it. Again I think it is a matter pretending with some people. but that is their business, If there is an afterlife then they will have some explaining to do.
No, you're not boring.
You see, I live a simple, uncomplicated life. I avoid people, situations and things that can complicate my life. I do care about what people think of me but could not care less if they like me or not. Maybe a boring life but I sleep well at night.
You have lots of admirers on CS and you're always nice to people, that's the way it should be!
