Some People!
I’m very even tempered; always the same. When somebody or something pissed me off, I don’t take it out on the next person and I cannot understand why some people are like that.
My neighbor's wife is one of those. Generally she is very sweet and we get along well. I have entertained them a few times and go there sometimes as well. I think we can consider us friends. But every now and again she gets into a bad mood and then she is the unpleasantness in person.
Yesterday afternoon when we came from the beach, my neighbor's wife was in the garden and when I greeted her, she ignored me. I repeated my greeting but she promptly turned around and went into the house. I opened my house door for my guests, asked them to excuse me for few minutes and walked around to my neighbor's place.
She opened the door and I spotted her husband standing a few yards behind her making some gestures towards me that I translated as ‘run for the hills’. I was not going to take such advice.
I greeted her again and asked her why she does not want to greet me. She said that she can greet whoever she wants. I agreed with her but added that then she should be consistent so I don’t waste my time greeting people who don’t want to greet me. Her husband still stood at the back grinning and covering his head with his arms as if expecting a nuclear detonation. I had trouble keeping my face straight. Sorry, she said, she’s not feeling well. I’m sorry too, I thought but left it at that. To rub my misgivings in a bit, I greeted her again and she managed a weak smile and greeted me back. Fourth time lucky!
Later, after my other two guests have departed, I relayed the story to my girlfriend and she suggested PMS. I have heard a lot of this ‘evil spirit’ that possesses women at times but cannot always understand it. I can understand that it leaves the host irritated and frustrated but is it really reason to be rude to people who you have a good relationship with?

That is the problem! We normally realize it too late. But that is our strategy, Lower the shoulders, shout 'Cover me' and charge! Think about it later and hope there is a woman around to dress our wounds.

No, she's 20 years my junior and not interested in me at all. A woman with me is not a too unusual sight and has never triggered something like this. She was just plain and simple rude.
I don't really think it is an evil spirit; that is why I put it between quotes but I still don't think it is a reason to be rude. It cost nothing to return a greeting, especially when it comes from somebody you talk to every day.
Hmm, it makes one think. Mind you, I have once been described as eccentric. There may have been something to it.

Moody cows? Well you said it. We then better hope no real cows lay eyes on this as the may sue for defamation. Cows are actually very placid creatures.
They can keep their moodiness to themselves, and not inflict it on the rest of us as if they feel they have to share it.
I am rarely in a bad mood, but if I am, it is the first thing I tell whoever I am with. They can then choose to remove themselves from my presence until it lifts
No malice either in my comment, just ask you a "favor" come back to her in a couple of days, maybe you can help and the woman needs to talk about something she can´t handle or it´s bothering her....I don´t know, it´s just an idea, if you appreciate them....
"Rudeness" usually hides emotions hard to handle (we see that in children all the time, it´s the same with adults)...it´s not our job going through life "understanding" others bad manners and it should be our responsability to bring the best of us to others but ....it´s not always possible.
Since you are "almost friends" maybe it could be a good idea
There is no problem between us. I was unhappy about the way she treated me and I told her so. That is why I went around to fix it. I did not go there to pick a fight with her.
Maybe it is because I'm so even tempered that I don't understand that other people could be moody. But I still think it is rude if a person takes his/her moods out on other people.
I feel much better now and I´m not mad at his words.

Sometimes in unimportant matters, letting others assume is fun.
I use more or less the same tactic to sell people who are on the right track a red herring.
Hmm, a bad day. by being rude they're just making the day worse. That is exactly the time when a positive attitude will brighten things up.
But back to Red Herrings; maybe I should just copy and paste any junk from the web and the insert a few selected keywords into the last paragraph to get the same results with less work.
The same thing happens on some of my blogs sometimes. Some people will pick out a word and make a whole issue about it, to the point that I have to edit the text and change the wording.
That is true, most the women I know are stable; the same every day. Yes, sometimes they are sad, upset, or something like that but never moody. If they get moody, they certainly don't show it. I appears to be a handful.
By the way, I don' exclude men from this behavior. I just happen to talk about women today.
Yes, but why must the nice people always turn the other cheek or walk away. Is it not time for the nastiness be treated in kind. By being nice we give them a carte blanche. Is it not time to tell them that they are rude?
A funny world but we have to live with it. What will we do without them?

Yes luckily they are the minority and we don't see too many of them
