when we understand who we are

This is so true on so many levels, not just in love of others, but ourselves, at work on a business level and all our friendships. There is always an element of risk that we must take! By Avoiding those risks that carry the possibility of pain, in love, friendship, and business, you forfeit your internal growth.

We also can not isolate our children from pain as well. Some people try, when the child becomes an adult and starts experiencing the harshness of life, they can not cope and go back to the parents for continued support, when they should be standing on their own two feet.

Unfortunately, many of us have endured allot of unnecessary pain inflicted upon us by others that have given us the strengths that we have today!!

I also like what you posted once in a forum and it applies so well to this blog, "what ever doesn't break you makes you stronger!" If I may also add, the stronger you become the more properly calculated pain(risk) you can endure and the more you can grow.
