In the workplace, the pecking order for Alpha Females is similar to social norms.It never used to be but there are more women in management.
Then again,an astute woman is very aware of the recent phenomenon of
the Mean Girls.Shall I attempt to explain the differences.

But I prefer to deal with the animal kingdom.
To impress men? Some do.
Ego boost? Maybe ..because some might have insecurity issues..
Boss over other women? May be not consciously.
Some people are natural Alphas and it's part of their personality...
Same as in a pack of wolves and other predators...
Or...in a herd of horses and other prey animals.
There's always a hierarchy
I like intelligent females on this site like you, LJ and others...I won't name all names, because I know how women get jealous, when I don't notice them
The new Sisterhood of social media has harried women conversing publicly; putting it on blast.It is moreso about common experiences of their peers,than familial.This implied an
unspoken respect for their man.
Alpha Females used to help families keep it together.It was admirable.The respect for an older woman's input is no longer welcome,as wisdom.Or to be emulated.The men then would addressed another man about issues of his abusive behavior.
Men are pretty basic, but if you want to complicate matters then ask on Facebook. It is not like Miss Manners or Ann Landers.It is about Her being correct.No advice,only similar wise women agreeing amongst themselves.
You can see it in the women's age differences.Usually best to stick with
whatever age you are,the relating to someone younger's experiences can be a stretch.
Don't men experience this hierarchy /seniority any more either.
20s-40s year olds
When you watch the younger bar scene,do you see female/male interactions or only female/female.
Good old stereotypical cat fights
6-16 year olds
Watch the "little ladies", around
6 years old and it is telling.
No more "Grandpa's Girl", whew
a tot can pick up Alpha attitude earrrrly.

Does a woman's libido increase when
expressing confidence? Maybe,as a girl transitions into a woman it may occur naturally.
Not in the same sense as a young man fighting with other men in his youth.?
Respect is what gives rise to either genders libido.

In my humblest opinion The real alpha woman deficnitely has a strong personality, but what sets her apart as a leader with diligence and tenacity is her strong sense of self, and of purpose.
The wanna be alpha woman is insisting beyond bossy, manipulative, condescending, and emasculating. She wants to be in control but isn’t.
