Links.

Why do people post links to videos and articles supporting their, quite often crackpot, views as if it's some kind of authoritative confirmation when it's just as easy to find videos and articles that say the opposite?

Harbal ~ A good question. I have not the abiltiy to put up Videos and I have admitted here lots of times that I can't upload on the laptop any music [which I would like to do from time to time ] I am still not answering your question.... Yes, there is a black to every white, and a good for every bad and a grey sky for every blue one.hug Nice to see you blogging. Just cooking.
Beats me...dunno

...if you look hard enough you can find pros and cons to any argument on the net.

I don't follow links. I prefer to hear the OP's personal viewpoint only, and take it from there.
They will have to answer you. I watched about 5 or maybe less videos on here over the last 2 years or so. Think one was funny and one was interesting...the rest were kind of....why, oh why did I waste my valuable data on this? So don't watch any of it anymore.
Hi Harbal I like what Berry said thumbs up I hardly ever look at the videos and links, most are way to long.

Good blog cheers
I agree with Berry!thumbs up
Harbal ~ yep, thinking about your question, I do prefer blogs written by the person themselves. I find some if not all Videos to be very very long. wave
I am visual
I make up my own mind
I appreciate they shared it
I do love any kind of music
I love CS mashup
I love travel pics,vlogs,etc.
I love CS as a dating site
because all others only talk

laugh need any more reasons
Ash, you are positively overflowing with love.
And thank God I can speed read
through some others.

I enjoy a good conversation _
Face to Face,nuances,
expressions,intimacy is
lacking in written blogs.
Not fond of phone
conversation,or texting

I read a lot,it's rarely romance
or fiction.Or tabloids.No TV.
handshake Chatty enough.

conversing conversing grin
"quite often crackpot, views as if it's some kind of authoritative confirmation"

As are blog topics that say One thing and turn into tangential conversations,
differences of interpretation,and
competing/contrasting theories.
(About day to day existence)

Provable example: should I pick up
a penny off the ground.. (blog topic).
I am positively a fountain of love
that goes mostly unnoticed.
Thank you Harbal.heart wings lips
Ash ~ I admire you, living without T.V. I read a good bit but I do have my favourite programmes, usually documentaries, interesting stuff, but I am thinking of getting rid of. I have about 90 Channels and as Bruce Springstein sang '52 Channels and nothing on ' wave
GG, I don't have a tv, either. Dare I hope you admire me, also? hug
Harbal,I don't have a TV,I have several which I don't watch.
I would love to give you one.
handshake
I will watch an occasional movie with a guest.laugh
Hey Harb, good to see you wave

Myself and String have missed you .... I think roll eyes

Now to your blog nerd
I suppose they're uploaded for someone that might care about something you don't.
whats useless to you, maybe useful for another conversing
I foroget the hug ~ from across the Irish Sea ~hug
I rarely open links either, especially ones which are unsupported by a narrative in the writer's own words.

I have seen the end of the world more times since I joined CS, than in my entire life (and it's still here) or seen so mqny one-sided political or religious extremist video links that if one were gullible, one might nearly believe these things to be a fact.
I think that's part of the problem. People don't want to know so they don't bother even looking. A much better approach in my opinion would be to have a look at the information being presented and then point out the fallacies in the presentation.......rather than to just dismiss it out of hand. The main problem today is that people can get their news from a source that supports the position they want to believe instead of listening to both sides of an argument.
GG, thanks for the hug. hug

Ash, thanks for the offer to give me one, I'm giving it serious consideration. wine

Molly, thanks for being you. smitten
Diova just said to me earlier, not to believe Google.

It's the same as believing any person.

U take with a big old bag of salt.

The more ridiculous, the more the salt.

Iow. Believe nothing and no-one until u have proof and believe it urself !
Harb, I'm still in considering modem giggle

wave
How dare you, sir. Why, I have umpteen links supporting my every point of view, or I would have if I ever had a point of view of my own. Huh.

snooty
Research beats group think any day.
Wow,nobody believes anything but
their own ignorance on subjects.

How do you gain knowledge if the internet, which provides college level information isn't good enough for you.

There are zillions of reference materials at your fingertips other than media.doh
I like using video and articles to present the facts...it depend on your sources and your ability to open your mind to the truths...a lot of the news is fake news and the lid is being opened ton the agenda of the globalists...we all have time to stand up to them and be brave
Blogs are for saying what you think, not pointing at what someone else thinks.
Harbal ~ The only thing is, there is so much False News on UTUBE and even some tacky T.V. stations, also staged Videos, utube, and propaganda is rife these days.hug
Yes, GG, I know. That's why I think it's pointless posting links. Besides, people come here to talk, not to be redirected to Youtube.
This is not usually like the forums
until several of you hopped over.

And dropped trow
It's all the rage.laugh
Sorry to hijack your blog Harbal wave
Patnips ~ Re UTUBE and othe information.
WHO etc.,
FACTS ~ EU had a meeting in Brussells ,it was decided [by many professors and Dentists not to use
it in the water , due to side effects [Thryoid being one ] as it was an involuntary medication of the people.
In other words, we should have a choice.

Yet Ireland persists in using it why ? Because at the time back in 1963, the Big Dental professors were paid huge bucks and still are, to push this, despite evidence .

My great aunt taught at the Dental Hospital, does that count for something other than UTUBE ?
Have a great day.wave grin grin
Feel free, GG. What's mine is yours, or soon will be, apparently. hug
Because in a debate it is supporting their views.
Crackpots,subjective?wave
Because it's easier than typing out 600-800 words on a subject that has already been professionally covered.
