The downfall of America's dad

I have mixed feelings when I read about the verdict of Bill Cosby last night. First off he is very old, second he truly symbolized the most ideal father like persona each of us had come to admire and emulate during the early 80s and on.

But in reality, I can't ever fathom what he has done and how he did it. Most evil act of manipulating and abusing his victims.

I mean, was he all that good on projecting the kind of a person as a dad and as a husband on his show just to please us for money?

I am so sad for his victims and yes, he deserves to pay the price and even that is not enough.

What a cruel world.

I'm sure this will serve as a lesson to those in power, like that of Weinstein and many others.
I remember him from further back, the old "I Spy" show. Robert Clup got first billing but Cosby was the show.
What a shame, when you cross a line, though, you must be prepared to pay. He apparenty crossed that line numerous times.
Oldie, that is for sure and yes, I have no qualms about these powerful people to get the punishment they deserve. Weinstein is next.
He’s an actor. Apparently a very good one.
He'll turn 81 this Summer.

Had he die-ceased twenty or just ten years ago his dad persona legacy would've remained intact.
It would've been the best 'death as a career move' ever.

As it now stands, one commentator has opined, "Dr. Huxtable Was Cosby's Sickest Joke".

Palm, yes. He fooled me.

I learned a lot from the show. It showcased all the most admirable character as a husband, a friend, Isnd a dad. I would have never thought that deep inside his heart he is a very sick sick man. I am so appalled.
LJ, the credit for his deception goes to the writers. Their work gave decent words and character to an obviously disturbed man
Mic, indeed. The world would have been deprived of justice it badly deserves. Specially the victims.
Palm no doubt. It's all about money.

Charlie Sheen got his bank drained keeping the bribes flowing for us to be fooled.
Cosby fooled millions of people for a very long time, me included, showing what a father figure should be! He got his justice! Now for the rest of the predators! Hope Weinstein gets his just due!
Unbelievable Jim.wave
Those with extreme wealth or famous thespians think they are untouchable and above the law, but they will all one day meet their victims and pay the price, in some respects many accusers didn't get touched they are just jumping on the bandwagon, not that it matters, guilt is guilt.
Map that's the most important message. Tge likes of Spacey, Weinstein, all of them.
B.C.'s most remarkable accomplishment -
30 KOs...and he never boxed!

Mic, live your humor always.
Mic, love your humor.

At Lady, I hope everyone of them will get exposed.

Lesson for all.

Palm. For best comment. applause How true that is.
Mic I have no doubt he is a manipulative and a real evil man. Anyone who contemplates to do just that, buying the drugs to do his act is one demented crazy guy.

By the way, why is the drug even allowed for sale?
Oldie, like Lady said, the controlling part. My question is, if he is that good in showing us a very ideal family life, full of love, care and kindness, isn't he a monster to do just the opposite in his real world?
Keepers, I agree, that sums it all up. Now if maybe, most of these thespians are like that, good actors and do these things against an unsuspecting world, wouldn't that be even more callous?
Just a thought, if it wasn't for ol' Bill telling the youth to pick up their pants, the fact that he dropped his so often would still be a secret. laugh Something for everyone to consider.
That's exactly my sentiment Grouch.

I guess the saying goes, truth will always find its way out.
Keepers I'm glad it was exposed.
#Metoo. #TimesUp. very mad
Weinstein, Spacey and all of their kind must pay the pay the price.
Phyllis,

I totally agree! Need to clean the pig pen and get rid of these low lifes!
Absolutely Jim.
Elle for heaven's sake how did I miss your valuable comment? I am so sorry and whatever you say, I agree.teddybear
I never thought of him as my dad, maybe cause I never watched his show. What was it, leave it to beaver or something like that?
Ooby, it is his namesake show, the Cosby Show..
Why now crucify the man. We must remember when one woman comes forward to supposedly expose a celebrity many follow why? From an event that supposedly happened in the dim distant past Man hatred and lies from certain women. Many prominent men have been targeted recently why? because these low life type of women know they have a chance of getting away with their lies. a women who comes forward ten twenty or thirty years after an event has happened to her should be incarcerated for not coming forward earlier and I mean immediately.
GG, I haven't read this comment until now and I am sorry.

Yes the mixed feelings I had was because I thought he was the epitome and embodiment of a very good family man. I didn't separate the big picture to reality.

Obviously he must be guilty of such crimes but my question is, why did it take a long time to have all these acts exposed?
