Spring has been significant for the last few years

Anyone still on Facebook knows how they love to throw up 'memories' from previous years, and sometimes they are interesting. Facebook reminded me today that it is 2 years since I was in Portugal on a romantic holiday. Last year I had just been made redundant (27 April) and was starting the long process of turning my life upside down. This year I have just finished the initial renovations of an elderly and slightly decrepit townhouse in Spain. (5 May)

I started thinking about it. 3 years ago I was in an LDR which tried, around now, to become a conventional relationship and instead exploded fairly dramatically.

4 years ago I had just joined CS and was giddily enjoying a short-lived virtual relationship.

5 years ago, according to Facebook, life was fairly dull, although I had just published my second book so it probably didn't feel dull to me at the time.

6 years ago I was asking Facebook to remind me I had stored my winter tyres in the garden chest. roll eyes

Does make me wonder what I will be doing next spring. Pushing up daisies (so back to the gardening theme) or having whole new and totally unanticipated adventures?

popcorn

I'd never really noticed the spring link before, wonder if anyone else has a similar pattern in their lives.

seven years ago, I delieted my fb account....been lost since then....

dunno confused laugh
Viking, you were ahead of your time laugh
As I rarely post on FB they don't give me such reminders, instead they daily tell me I need more friends & as I live in Spain list about 30 random Spanish people, I've yet to see one I've even heard of let alone know doh I rather get the feeling this is to suit them as opposed to being any use to me mumbling which is growing trend amongst American Corps very mad
Biff ~ My happiest time of year, a time of hope, rebirth. Yes, I have both good and bad memories pertaining to Spring. Mostly romantic. One was being dumped after along relationship in my late 40s. At least the nights were getting shorter I suppose.

Now you have Sun the whole year 'round. I hope you are not getting a wee bit weepy for your Scottish climes?
Don't scold It's dark, dismal, colder here today, waiting for my Taxi to take me to Blackrock to my private clinic to have a biopsy. Oh what an exciting life I lead. No time for romance when your Calendar is all Medical appointments.uh oh snowed in Can't wait to see pics of your home when finished. hug
Mimi, so that's your new spring pattern, planning time together laugh hug
Z, think of it as a living diary. Post useful comments like 'dear me it is nearly my anniversary again' and hope they play along and remind you laugh
GG, you're not having the best spring this year, by next spring this will be a dark and distant memory!

Which is what Scotland is rapidly becoming to me. I was very happy there but weirdly don't miss it all confused Well - not yet!

Won't be posting pics until it is perfect (so, never!)
This morning I got what a FB friend did 2 years ago today professor ate some cake professor wow I really needed to be reminded of that mumbling laugh
rolling on the floor laughing like my winter tyres
Well we are in autumn now, supposedly, but we haven't had winter in Durban for the past 3 years. I used to sleep under a duvet during winter months, no more, just a single sheet covering during winter. It's really troubling because today it was hot as hell, as if we are in mid-summer with 27 degrees today in May month. ???? Most unusual as you know being a Durbanite yourself. peace
I went into mine and saw nothing

Then I remembered I'd have had to have shared something on FB for it to appear laugh
Keepers, I am already nervously sourcing ways of dealing with extremely hot weather as my first Spanish summer is coming up and I left Durban many many years ago

Aircon? the cheap portable ones are noisy, can't be doing with that scold
overhead fan? bought one for bedroom, just have to get it fitted and hope
evaporating units? I'm told repeatedly they don't work
Misting fan may be the answer, looking into those

Right now a very pleasant 22 degrees in the shade, according to the street thermometer on the corner (I was just out walking the dog) Nice!
Molly, this may astonish you but I share info on FB all the time. Honestly. Hard to believe, eh? I'm such a reticent shy type.

But then I'm mainly talking to family and the friends now scattered all over the world and they do want to know important stuff, like where I store my winter tyres.
