Mental health personal issues....

OK, so your life has been interesting in the Chinese curse sense, and your family is a hotbed of drama. Don't even ask about the kids lives. It took you a while, but the "duh" moment finally arrived, and life's scars melted the resistance and denial. Perhaps there's a bottom story for you. So you decide to seek professional help. No easy task. Most folks don't even know where to start. No shortage of incompetents and even scammers, in spite of impressive looking paper on the wall. I'll outline the issues in time, perhaps, if interest exists. But for starters, do you seek medicine, talk therapy, both, or something entirely different? Many ways to skin a cat here. Aa-V.

This would be more understandable if written in the first person singular.
Thanks. Excellent point, BA. Much better would have been to use first person plural, no? Most of us could use a little help. some more than others. Aa-V.
Good morning AA and everyone.. Just wanted to say hi and I know dramas are part of our human life, each to their own but there is nothing that require that much to get ironed out.hug
The American would be saner if American life was less like a living advert promoting yourself on the open market. Speaking from the heart is what you do less and I don't think professionals necessarily have the answer to the hyped-up and estranged society you are, you have enough 5 year olds on anti-depressants as it is.
Rid myself of all the family drama years ago and feel drama free. The only baggage I have now are the ones I have stored in the storage.
Hi, LJ and CC. Righto, CC, it's not only the type of drugs you mention that are these days handed out like candy, often after a 12 minute rushed clinical visit, far too often with kids. It really takes a good deal of time with a child AND the family to understand and try to help with such issues. There are lots of reasons that this goes on, and too short time with patients is only one reason. The pushy adverts from big Pharma, to clients on TV, and to nurses and docs, play a role. And the fact that we can often treat many problems ourselves with diet and other lifestyles. and alternative therapies, but we often rush to the easy comfort of a pill. And we yanks understand the perhaps envious anger of many formerly world powers (France, UK, others), when trying fairly to discuss issues in the USA. But we are certainly not alone with issues of allopathic overmedication. Happens in the National Health as well. Aa-V.
