if you had to choose -
this came up as a topic in class, and intrigued me.If you had to choose between not being able to speak again
OR
not being able to stop yourself saying everything you thought
Which?
I'm getting used to not being able to speak here in Spain anyway. and I could see myself getting into real trouble if I couldn't stop saying what I thought. Some of the things I think but don't say are fairly volatile
But the freedom of being able to say everything because you had no choice, and people would know you had no choice - that freedom could be fun!

No, not a circle. Lots of jagged edges.
another debate was - speak every language in the world, or be the best in the world at one thing?
(it was, for once, a super-fun class!)
I'd be in trouble and it's ok.
Got stopped by the policia the other day for a breathalyser test and would it have helped or not to have blurted out
help what have I done wrong POLICE BRUTALITY
oh good you speak English
actually you are rather cute
blow into this? why? I haven't been drinking
nice smile!
see? see? no alcohol
let me go rozzer
etc
If I care about them, I make sure I clarify it to to them.
If I don't care about them, it doesn't matter to me.
Wish you'd give a monologue in a brief situation
Sometimes on CS debates I do think we have all chosen the second option the things I find myself saying, eish
If the moment has passed, it ain't coming back
Like you're in a pub, notice a bloke come in, do you not think hmm nice eyes too close together but good hair and lovely chin bit short but ...
No?
But I am not going to go up to him and blurt it out
I don't size anybody up unless he looks like Alex Roe.
As 99% of my thoughts stay firmly as thoughts, then I would have to choose the first option.
But then there are ways of letting your feelings be known apart from words
Elle am I off topic yet?
I don't like romance as a spectator sport, enjoy it as an experience
I tend to say what I think even if its muttered under my breath, for the most part it should be "stop, think, speak" but antecedents will often get in the way.
ok I will grant you that you usually do say exactly what's on your mind
but not everything
I mean we're talking a skype situation, say, and the other person comes on line and I'm thinking 'you're never 50 bud, and what, never heard of a hairbrush?' and out loud I'm saying 'hey, hi, nice to meet you' and trying not to ask 'is that a dead rat on the floor behind you?'
But it would usually be true
Once upon a time I had sleek smooth obedient hair, you know. Then I came to Spain. PHWOOM.
Spain isnt to blame for any hair related issues, try baby shampoo, it works for my long flowing locks.
So that's not happening
Talking is overrated anyway...
To me, that would depend on how the words "speak" and "not being able to stop" are defined.
