HATERS

If someone does not approve of certain actions of a person, does that mean he/she HATES that person?

HATE is an very strong word.

He/she may feel a certain degree of disapproval towards certain actions of that person but may not necessarily HATE that person

Is it fair to label others as HATERS of that person just because he/she disapproves of certain actions of that person?

Labelling others as HATERS merely because they may not approve of the actions of a person is childish and immature.

If you do not agree with the views of others, then criticise their views logically and constructively rather than resort to name calling and dergatory remarks.

This is a violation of Blog Rule 2:

Treat others the way you would like to be treated – with respect - be polite, considerate, with no personal attacks, name calling, harassment, bad language.

I don't hate, it takes too much energy, I diss them instead. bouquet
I am always suspicious of people who use that word.
I think they believe they are more important than they are.
It takes energy to hate someone, and most people, and definitely I, wouldn't waste my precious energy on hating people I do not know.
I may actively dislike their outlook on life, and how they look on humanity in general. I wouldn't be in any great hurry to meet them in real life either as I know I wouldn't like them. But hate? Meh...
Diss as in dismiss. laugh
I don't have the energy to show hate for someone whether I know them or not.I may disapprove of someones actions and their opinions a good share of the time but hate has always been a strong word to me.
They hate you if you're clever and they despise a fool
'Haters'

The term is used to denigrate those with whom one disagrees.
It's also a useful pity ploy to portray a victimgroup as objects of hatred.

It's well to mention this elephant in the room.
Good blog, Soc cheers

I think you nailed it mic. tip hat
A phenomenon has happened (at least in my country, Brazil) in the last ten years: while the use of the Internet grew, this word became more "popular."
Thus, first in the social network and later in daily use.

However, it has also become commonplace to express in other words something like "I do not like this/that", looking like an impoverishment of the language since these speakers do not seem to demonstrate a true "hatred" for somebody or something, but only disapproval and disagreement.

If it would be a cybernetic fact with more visible voices and opinions (or merely a simple metalinguistic expression), an impoverishment of the Portuguese language "pari passu" among other external factors (such as poor educational quality in my country etc.), I would not know how to say, but the fact is that has become commonplace and continues to expand (in any environment).
But all this, it is my empirical observation (and limitedly) about my country.

About the situation of true haters, I can not speak properly (not yet).
However, they have appeared more here in Brazil, especially stimulated by some political parties with their empty rhetoric filled with "argumentum ad populum" in a serious (and real/concrete) environment of political and economic difficulties, unfortunately.

And of course, being here in the International CS, I can not know properly other cultures how far/deep the expression means in their daily lives, from the idiosyncratic approach to the collective social layer (though there are innumerable clues anywhere).

Personally speaking, this displeases me because the word always holds more than a formal meaning, even in the face of the growing confusion of the expression (with "I do not like/agree", at least in Brazil) among other terribly negative senses (even destructive).
In general I agree with the previous opinions mentioned here (energy/focus, suspicion and the elephant in the room etc).

As @miclee has said, "good blog", @socrates (also good nickname surely :-)
Some hate because they are jealous, I rather indulged my time into something more useful
You can still like a person and not like their actions.......wine
Don't you hate it when someone answers their own questions? I do.

laugh

Hi Soc wave
There is such a different view on these issues that it has dramatically grown.
Neglected by local politicians, people are turning on each other.

Ash that's a good video to show the utopia our liberal friends are building for us in the cities they control. handshake
Who needs hate in their life?

I mean really?

It's just so toxic to self.

There are those I have difficulty understanding and may not like aspects about them or have differing viewpoints......but, I generally just avoid those people.

Forgiveness is another matter. There is one person in my life I'm struggling to forgive.

Working on it.
We can only choose to be who we are Merc.

We have no control over what others think or feel about us.

They are welcome to hate.....it will just tear them apart, in the end.

How are you these days?

Are you back to workouts? or still recovering?
Yeah they can hate me me till the cows come home doesn't affect my life.

After six days of taking the wrong antibiotic at 250mg..Yesterday a Muslim lady doctor gave me the right antibiotic at 875mg I was so close to being admitted to bloody hospital..Tonight I was hungry for the first time within a week.

Of course I've lost weight still feel weak so it will be a few more days before I get back to the gym which will only be abs/butts/thigh class..Won't dare get back into weights till the end of next week.

Thanks for asking hug
Geez.....they under-dosed you.....no wonder you weren't improving.

Pleased to hear things are back on track.

Yep....take things slowly, for sure.

You take care eh.....hug
The male Muslim doc under did me laugh

Yeah all's on the right path now love..You take real good care too hug
Hate the sin.........love the sinner
There are some on here who would say, because he was Muslim, he intentionally messed up your dosage....doh

You must be skin and bone.....as you're a lean machine anyway.

What was it? An unspecified virus?
Dont have the energy to hate.

Hate is for the young who dont know any better....its one of many things great about getting older...you just are less and less bothered by things/plp who are not well intentioned.
As a very small child my late mother taught me never to show hate towards anyone and I raised my two sons to never to show hate anyone either.

It's never been in my nature to show hate.I'll leave the hate part to someone else.
wave Soc, but no its not fair a tall and who ever thinks it is know's darn well their lying....
its only a trick word so often used to distract from disapproval or its reasons.

Treat others the way you would like to be treated.....
used to be a motto of mine handshake
but these days I'm changing it a bit to a more meaningful one.

I Think Hate Is another way of causing stress to ones life/health. Which I do not take part in!
Berry yeah he was a male Muslim who refused to listen to he's patient but in saying that it was a Muslim lady doctor who has saved me from being admitted to hospital.

Not skin and bone even though I've lost a lot of weight I still have muscle definition.

At the end of next week I will start using weights at 8 kilos instead of 50 kilo's which is my norm.

You asked me what I have..People get colds or flu's I don't but for what ever reason this time of year I have to be very vigilante in regard to my windpipe..My windpipe closes up if she's infected from some one who has a Winter bug.

I went to the doc in time my windpipe felt irritated so I knew what to do and if he had of listened to me there wouldn't of been any drama...Last few years I've been fine this year because of ignorance it floored me and I had no choice but to start sipping on soup and a couple of bites of bread because it's a must I take food with these potent tablets.

Infected windpipe caused my body to have a deadly virus.

I will be going back to that Muslim lady doctor with some Lebanese sweets & a bunch of flowers.
Hi Socs, when I was young my mother also taught me to love all things bright and beautiful BUT never to cuddle with snakes.... Some folk might confuse hate with avoidance but Iife has taught me differently.handshake cheers
wave Socrates
I found these comments intriguing.
I am glad you wrote this blog.
Berry 50 kilo's is for squats and lunges

The weights your using are perfect especially quick reps give great results with the weights you use.

Thanks Bery hug
Haters amuse me especially those who have me in their head space 24/7.

Rent free too can't get better than that as I obviously left my mark giggle
