I often come across the tests where they ask you what sense you would give up if you had to choose one and I always say "smell", yet maybe that sense is much more important than we think.
I read somewhere that parts of the brain that we use for storing memories are very close to the part of the brain that controls the sense of smell, so - maybe - my writing reminds you of something/someone that smells a certain way.
