Agree completely, if they learned----but also if they have made important changes, no? Knowledge doesn'r always imply change. Basic learning theory.

Some people learn from their mistakes and try not to make the same one again and others go from one mistake after another. I do know of one female who sort of had a past but have realised she had made a mistake and only many years later she is starting to look again and will do her best to find someone far better than her first one.

Don't pre-judge a person on poor history.

They may have done a complete 180 to turn themselves round.

Accept people for who they are in the present, unless of course, in getting to know them, they give you good reason not to.

Thanks, all. Yep, if we learn from our misdeeds, it goes a long way to fitting back into things with others. Of course, the range of misdeeds is great, and I also try to understand why the greatly aggreaved may be challenged to forgive the worst of us. But when they can, they will no longer be carrying their own burdens around. Things will no longer be renting space in their heads.

Seriously speaking, I don't think we can completely leave our past behind. As long as one accepts, embraces and is at peace with it, a good relationship is possible for either genders.

If trying to hide or run away from the past it becomes a continuous daunting task of lying. Not going to work.
