The Virgosign on abortion.

Let me make my position clear on this - I am not for killing unborn babies. Or living ones for that matter! But I also believe in Truth, Freedom of Expression, Free Will and Peace. And so, in spite of my anti-abortion stand, I will not impose it on anybody else. This is a messy controversial issue, highly personal and spiritually between the individual, her conscience and God.
Argentina has just rejected a bill to allow selected legalised abortions. Argentina is the homeland of Papa Francesco and media reports that the Church had a big say in the result. Of course, that’s a given. The Church needs to see to the overall good of mankind and irrespective if the whole world is for abortion, or the nauseating secular-state arguments, the Church (or anyone for that matter) cannot condone killing.
I mean, only last week the Church made a turnaround and abolished the death penalty for crying out loud.

Well if the pro abortion group had themselves been aborted . then the antI abortion group would have no one to complain about

Its nice to see some governments still know right from wrong applause

But if they allowed the public to vote just as Ireland did, I wonder would the outcome of been the same.

I'm not a fan of governments but sometimes when THEY take the lead, they do get it right... wine
OK, VS. I think so called therapeutic abortion, which I refer to as CFM---clinical fetus murder---does have a limited place among legitimate medical proceedures. If properly vetted, and as such, very rarely used, it is sometimes a regrettable yet helpful thing. My objection is using it as a quick and convenient alternative to responsible effective birth control. As such, it fits into modern trending, at least in parts of the liberal West. Sloth is replacing time tested valued traditions. Worse, anyone who objects is labelled racist, homophobic, intolerant, etc. CFM is mostly no more than that.

Agreed my friend, but I find that laws are never airtight and people will find the loopholes to their own needs and ends. So leave the door ajar, and it's no door at all. Cheers.cheers

Hello Virgo.
An issue like this hits home for me being a catholic. Although i do not impose my beliefs and practices on anyone, i wish people would be more conscientious and selfless with their actions. I guess, we all are just doing our best the way we think is right and just by our values and morality.
