It was no secret that membership for Trump's golf courses and Mar-a-Lago increased when he became president. I've heard the term increased significantly a few times.
That's not the only increases.
ABC News reports the Trump Organization has a history of overcharging the government when it comes to Secret Service staying at Trump hotels. According to an investigation released Monday by the House Committee on Oversight and Reform, Secret Service paid more than 5 times the recommended government rate.

"$1,160 for a room at the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C. for agents protecting Eric Trump on March 8, 2017. The government rate for D.C. on that night was $242. On Nov. 8, 2017, another ledger shows that the Secret Service was charged $1,185 to lodge agents protecting Donald Trump Jr. The government rate was $201."

Secret Service for adult children of the president, Eric and Don Jr. at five times the normal government rate.


Reader reviews swing both ways, some in defense of Trump and Biden sending millions in military aid to Ukraine. The key factor is the Trump Organization profited from SS stays at his hotels/resorts.

I'm reading a story on Market Watch redirected from Yahoo! Finance about a woman who cannot get her finances in order. Her gross salary is $350,000, she's got $88,000 remaining in student loans, $170,000 in car loans and a mortgage of $4,500 a month.
Her question is "Do I need professional help?"
My answer is yes... but not from a financial advisor... Lady, you need help from someone with a degree in mental health.

Before finishing the story, I jumped to the reader comments to see what the other readers thought about this woman's situation. I'd say she wasted money on her education... they didn't teach her common sense.

A high percentage of the woman who come to CS are looking for love. That's expected. A high percentage of them are unemployed. That's surprising. Maybe they should be looking for a job. Better... a job they love!

Earlier this year, I noticed a few sites have changed security that requires a Logon to view webpages. Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn to name a few. Direct links from other pages works... sometimes, but attempts to access a main page requires the user to logon.

I'm predicting there will be more and more of this to where all media sources will require some kind of registration/membership to view their content.

Regular visits to Google asks me to logon... I ignore them, but the day may come where I'm unable to do any searches without being 'connected'

Unless a YouTube video is restricted to adult content, videos are open to view...
When I search on a song or artist, they and others like it keep popping up until I clear my cookies and cache files. With a logon, YouTube would have more control to select adds they think the user would view. That would require clearing the history in the membership file.

I'm known for buying cheap office chairs. They usually last 3 to 5 years and get tossed out or handed down when a new one arrives. I've been through lots of fabric styles and a few ultrasuede versions. I dislike the bonded leather chairs as it's an emulsion of a polyurethane skin with fibers of leather for the backing. It looks and smells like plastic. Naugahyde is on my 'do not buy' list.

Also, I avoid real leather. Mostly for the expense and I don't like the smell.
Two years ago, I bought a stylish 'minimal' chair for my living room that was wood and thin leather cushions. I had to return it as the leather had a 'vomit-like' smell.

Someone I worked for years ago, bought an ultra-expensive judges chair with a high back rolled cushion top and rolled arms complete with the decorative tacks. Expensive in the range of $2,500, he made some statement his chair could easily last 15 years. Okay, but he used to shave his head and within a few weeks, the headrest started changing color from the oil in his skin! One day he came into the office (from working on something in the factory) and forgot to remove a screw driver from his back pocket. Deep scratch in the seat that will annoy him for the remaining 14 years in the life of his expensive chair!

Most people think of Make America Great Again when they see the acronym MAGA.
The 65 Project may rewrite all that, as the new acronym for MAGA is Making Attorneys Get Attorneys.



Basically the project states that after the 2020 election, Trump's lawyers filed bogus lawsuits in attempt to overturn the election results. The website lists their ethics complaint filings against those attorneys.

Steve Bannon is in New York court today facing multiple charges that include conspiracy & money laundering for his work with a non-profit 'Build the Wall' that raised $25 million to build a wall on the Southern US border.
I clicked one of the links that describes construction will be on privately owned land and work started without a permit.

Sounds like an interesting event and I've got to say that Steve is a busy guy!

Last month, my car had some damage from a de-laminated truck tire recap on the highway that a car along side of me hit and it flew into my path.

The insurance company arranged a rental and body shop for the repairs.
Everyone did what they were supposed to do.

I returned the rental and received texts and emails asking: How did we do?
The insurance company sent a few emails asking: How did we do?
The body shop sent a few texts and emails asking: How did we do?

You all did good... but I don't respond to surveys and 'back patting' reviews.

Many of the people I work with typically take vacations in July and August. I've been doing mini-vacations of a day or two locally and will probably schedule an official vacation to visit my brother in Ohio when kids go back to school... or we hear less nightmares of 1,000 cancellations on any given weekend.
I'm finishing up on 4 projects that only need some touchups and minimal service to be 100%. A few new projects have been released to manufacture and I'm currently working on another round of estimates.
So, I'm busy. Maybe a little more than I expected, but that's a good thing.

I told my flying buddies, no time to fly helicopters during the week. Practice will have to wait until the weekend.
