He never said a word

until last night, some twenty six years later when Fate has swung her laughing loom and woven him back in to the tapestry of my life. Oh, this is not someone I fancied, although he was attractive. Back in the day I was knotted inextricably in the worst decision of my life that burned up the decade of my twenties for the most part and this man was a see you at the parties, dance and sing with wave a merry farewll until the next time kind of guy.

Then last night speaking to the woman who may have found a home for Furball, our business concluded she said "hold on, there's someone wants to talk to you." and this rich voice that plucked at memory said "where have you been all of my life" I said, "oh, here and there like everyone, and who are you?"

A long conversation, he now married, confides his old passion (secret) for me, his desire (also secret) to marry me, although I suspect that bed me would be more accurate. Oh well, it was fun to have a moment of remembering my heyday when I was so totally unvailable that men had crushes from a distance on me.

I cannot help but wonder if someone had evinced an open interest if it might have broken through the spell that suspended me in pain as if I was a fly strayed on to resin slowly dying and becoming a jewel to be mounted and displayed in all the nicest places.

Strangely, I have no regrets for that dark time that twisted me, carved memories that took an age to fade and heal; bottom line it was my choices that forged the chains and when I made the choice they fell away as easily as feathers on a baby's breath and I learned many lessons I will not have to sit through any more.

So it is nice to know I was desired, have lived in memory across a gulf of years without the slightest contact. Perhaps I should order up a headstone that says "They never spoke, but they remembered her forever"

Why Does It Always Rain On Me?

Im Serious.

I must be cursed or something, i mean relationship wise im cursed..Lemme take you back to my first ever boyfriend!...I was 14, We didn't last near a week....Only because my cousin made me choose and i chose her instead of my boyfriend.

Second boyfriend when i was 17...In fact they all didn't even last a month the ones i had when i was 17.

Then the only one i ever cared about when i was 18, we lasted 1 month and of course he was a little paranoid and so that brought our relationship to an end and i was distraught for weeks..I'd hardly eat anything from one day to the next...I guess i was kinda stupid to do that, but truth is i still miss him even 1 year on...crying

But thats what im here for, a loyal...None paranoid, None Clingy Soul mate lol!

Anyway im done rambling on about my none existant love life lolgrin drinking

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

It is an extraordinary story of an ordinary boy named Santiago …a shepherd by profession. He had chosen to be a shepherd as he liked to travel and discover new places and people around him. One day, while sleeping in an old and broken temple, he had a very strange dream. And this was the second time he was having this dream. He could not understand anything from the dream. So he went to a dream interpreter and came to know about his destiny for the first time. He became aware and confirmed about his destiny when he met another elderly person calling himself the king of salem ….then he started his journey towards his destiny and on the way he met lot of other people along with The Alchemist and the love his life.

The alchemist changed his life…he came to know the truth about the human being’s hidden capabilities and could utilize them on his way towards his destiny… The Englishman who learns that action is the best teacher and that its better late than never to start one’s quest and often the truth is very simple, Fatima who tells him that love need not hold a man back, the crystal seller who teaches him that you need to cleanse your negativity, the alchemist who speaks to him about destiny. He even learns from his sheep lessons of patience and the silent language that everyone speaks. But as he observes.. the sheep were not actually teaching him but he was learning from them.

Now to know the story in detail you need to read the book…it may seem to be a mere story, but when you read the book you will come to know how this mere story tells the huge secrets of our lives…

I realized that we are just common people, but each person has a dream, a destiny to reach. But the thing is that, you need to know your destiny. Once you know your destiny then only you will be able to go towards it. No wonder, the story was a complete fiction, but the theme behind the story is a reality for every human being. One can fetch his/her dreams and can write & achieve his/her destiny…that is what the story is all about…

You will come to know how influencing this book is once you read this and try to realize the similarities between the simple shepherd & us, his dreams & our dreams, his destiny & our destinies…may be, our dreams and our destinies are different, but what the similarity is that…the destiny is in our hands only…

Few lines from the book :
** At a certain point of our lives, we lose control of what’s happening to us, and our lives become controlled by fate. That’s the world’s greatest lie …
** There is one great truth on this planet : whoever you are, or whatever it is that you do, when you really want something, it is because that desire originated in the soul of the universe. It is your mission on earth.
** All things are one.

~ These I Can Promise ~

I cannot promise you a life of sunshine;
I cannot promise riches, wealth, or gold;
I cannot promise you an easy pathway
That leads away from change or growing old.

But I can promise all my heart's devotion;
A smile to chase away your tears of sorrow;
A love that's ever true and ever growing;
A hand to hold in yours through each tomorrow

~ ancient Sanskrit poem ~

Look to this day
for it is life
the very life of life.

In its brief course lie all
the realities and truths of existence
the joy of growth
the splendor of action
the glory of power.

For yesterday is but a memory
And tomorrow is only a vision.
But today well lived
makes every yesterday a memory
of happiness
and every tomorrow a vision of hope.

Look well, therefore, to this day....

Love On The Internet

Love On The Internet

Though I wasn't looking for anyone new,
One day I got e- mail and in it was you.
Charming, sensitive and so debonair,
I strongly resisted it go anywhere.

But letters and stories captured my heart,
Filled me with passion almost from the start.
Love on the Internet, how could it be?
These things just don't happen to people like me.

But doves and butterflies flew into our lives,
Carrying messages we could not deny.
Each person has meaning and love to express,
And we could deny our hearts nothing less.

It's a beautiful love that has grown between us,
Something beyond any words we discuss.
Much deeper than LOL, cyber kisses and such,
Far down to our souls, beyond human touch.

My love's not confined by what it can see,
I feel you, I taste you, I experience your dream.
Close my eyes, and I envision what in my heart I can hear,
"Love knows no boundaries, no distance, no fear."

It's the soul that captures God's love in a way
That eternally melts hearts together to stay.
Fused and sealed forever as one,
Love has its way and new life is begun.

55 miles a gallon

Hi everyone

Does anyone remember the Honda and the Chevy Sprint of the 1986 years? The miles per gallon....55 mpg.

I had 2 Sprints, an 86 which I bought new in Massachusetts kept for 4 years. Never had one problem with it...always got the great mpg, and only traded it in for another Sprint with air conditioning. I had moved to Florida.

Had that car for another 4 years and wish I never gave it up. It was an 87 and used. It was also a great little car. Never had one problem with either car unless you consider replacing the muffler which was very inexpensive....very, very inexpensive.

With air conditioning, the milage dropped to 46 mpg or a little better depending on the driving use. The cars may not have lasted for ever as I don't see them around now. But I would buy another in a minute.

Oh yes, in 86, this car cost just under $5,000.

I don't have the mpg on Honda or the model...but I know the mpg was just under what the sprint got....there was enough discussions about it for me to remember it was almost as good.

I wish either car company would tell us why they can't build another car like those. I would like any car company to tell us why they can't build another car like those.

The best mpg any car company can offer us is 30 something mpg. Would love to learn more about what is with car manufacturers that they won't build a car like this now. Blueworld

~ Have a beautiful day ~

It's not the presence of someone that gives life a beautiful meaning, it's the way that someone touches your heart that gives life a beautiful meaning.
In everything you do, do it with love, and love will always be with you.

Have a beautiful day my sweet friend!

you will all like this.

TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED the 1930's, 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's!!

First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant.

They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes.

Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-based paints.

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking.

As infants & children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, booster seats, seat belts or air bags.

Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat.
We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle.

We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this.

We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank Kool-aid made with sugar, but we weren't overweight because,
WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!

We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.

No one was able to reach us all day. And we were O.K.

We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.

We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVD's, no surround-sound or CD's, no cell phones, no personal computer! s, no Internet or chat rooms.......
WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!

We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents.

We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.

We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and, although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes.

We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them!

Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!

The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!

These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever!

The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.
We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL!

If YOU are one of them.CONGRATULATIONS!

You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated so much of our lives for our own good.
While you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave (and lucky) their parents were.

Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't it?!

The quote of the month is by Jay Leno:
'With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?'
