Two young children from an elegant school are kidnapped and detective Alex Cross races against the clock to try to find them alive. As the months go by, he is entangled in a maze of false clues and things get a cruel twist.

A thriller with some interesting elements thrown in but which I feel misses something as the "bad" characters could have been developed a little more.

Detective Cross and his granny are great characters.
