I have learned that there exists those who have not read either The Hobbit or then The Trilogy, but have only seen 'the movie', and believe is actually a playing character, that the elves fought at helms deep, that Strider was thirty something. They have never heard of the barrow wights nor Tom Bombadil, etc... For the readers of the Trilogy, tell me what stands out to you. What did you love and take from it? Dislike. Favourite characters and why. How often do you re read the Trilogy as is often the case with lovers of it. Any thoughts?
