The job can be dangerous, and Blaine has some moral issues with it, she'd rather be helping the humans, but Leah is adamant that that means repressing her natural 'gifts'.
Leah has plans for taking over the company from her partner Reed, who is her conniving manipulative nemesis. she wants to be the powerhouse in the energy industry.
Faith steps in and Leah's plans are threatened, and she fins herself in a dangerous mess she cant get out of.
Then there's Susan, a regular island girl who thinks her life is finally getting settled, plus she's met this really nice guy...she thinks....
