For most gulls it is not flying that matters, but eating. For this gull, though, it was not eating that mattered, but flight. A story of the importance of seeking a higher purpose in life, even if your flock, tribe, or neighborhood finds your ambition threatening

This is an excellent book, highly spiritual and metaphysical. I have had a copy in my library for years. Very much inspirational for those who do not follow the norm in life but seek beyond the everyday things. Neil Diamond produced a music cd based on the story. The cd is highly recommended, I have it in my collection. There is also a film version on dvd. Book, music cd, and dvd are a must for anyone's collection of the spiritual.

I dopn't currently have a copy but, after reading this at an early age, it changed my perspective on a LOT of this. Truly magical.
