Killer book. Movie is good to if you can handle subtitles. Second book is just as good maybe better, the movie was honestly kinda dissapointing i guess im expecting a warner bros big budget type film. Still gotta read the girl that kicked the hornots nest, its still in hardback so im waiting. Big ups Sweden u lost a master when Stieg Larsson died. Wish he could have lived longer!!!!!!
OUTRAGEOUS
I had never heard of Larsson until a friend casually dropped the name Lisbeth Salander in a conversation and I was totally ignorant of who she was...he insisted that I had to read the books and I went ahead and bought all three and became instantly addicted to Lisbeth Salander. I think Dragon Tattoo is a really good book, but when I started The girl who played with fire, I changed my opinion...I haven't been able to put down the books in a month...and I'm right at the middle of Hornet's Nest...

You are right, Sweden lost a Master author when Stieg Larsson passed...but not only Sweden...the world at large did.
OUTRAGEOUS
Today I finished Book No. 3 of the trilogy. I am very pleased that I went ahead and bought the books. Now I wish I had someone to discuss the books with! Argh!

I read this series years ago and loved it. As far as the movies, Michael Nyqvist the original (Mikael Blomkvist), and Noomi Rapace the original (Lisbeth Salander) were the best. They should have never changed the cast.

All three Swedish films were excellent.
US remakes rip the soul out of them.
Noomi Rapace, the woman from the films, did this comedy about a couple planning to kill each other but were interrupted by escaped criminals.
At the end their story was turned into a US film and the portrayal regarding how much reality was remade was amazing.
We ruin everything we tough that has a soul.
