RE: Rhonda Byrne: The Secret

The idea is very good and optimistic. I have always been optimistic during my life. I have always been thinking so. Why I am still alone, then? Maybe, because I am not selfish, because I couldn't lie the men (I hate this one)?
I have been grown in happy family and know what is to have this one.
I am not sure that I still believe I will give someone my love.

RE: George Orwell: 1984

Eerie but very much the truth about contemporary England. Not only the public cameras everywhere, or the violations of individual's liberties, but also the mentality of a mad-driven society. Ask foreign students what they think about England and they will tell you that this book is as real and true as it is eerie. English society failed to respect this masterpiece. Orwell like Golding tried to save English society. they were both great authors, no doubt.

RE: J.D.Salinger: The Catcher in the Rye

I admire Salinger, but i must admit, his litterature was not worthy of reading. I still have his other works, which i regret i bought them. Apart from 'the catcher in the rye' he failed to captivate me. He was too intense as an author and he lacked the flow which makes the reader interested. But he was a great rebel and i admire him for his struggle against curroption and against the weakness of mankind. he refused world glory. a true hero. bless his soul.

RE: J.D.Salinger: The Catcher in the Rye

Well, John Lennon was murdered because of this book. But one should not blame Salinger R.I.P the book is also a call for a revolution against the wickedness of mankind as an institution. basically, we are killing the planet and anyone who is pure. Holden was the victim who screamed out loud and made a difference. But this book is more than just a jix or a simple work of litterature, it represents the spirit of a rebel.

RE: J.R.R. Tolkien: The Lord of The Rings

I lived in these books with the various characters and their quests and worries and trials. It's not often that you come across a book where you have to delve into so many different imagined cultures with their own uniqueness. You dont want to come out of it until you see that the character has survived or that the villian is defeated. Its like entering a parallel universe.!!! I had to get my own copy to keep. My daughter would only let me borrow hers.

RE: Harper Lee: To Kill A Mocking bird

We had to read this book during the last year of high school. I am glad we were forced to read it. A lawyer with children risks his life for justice and equality. I identified with his cause and hoped that mankind will change for the better. I never been to America, so I cannot judge as for the progress, but I loved this book and the fact that there are good lawyers, although very few who care about justice and about mankind. This book should be, in my view, on the high school book must read lists worldwide. Otherwise the world will never change. Great book.

RE: George Orwell: 1984

Reading this story always scares me to think about the universe where it is a reality. I hope it never comes true.

RE: Wm. Paul Young: The Shack

This is definitely a good book! It's spiritual but you have to be very open to not be offended pretty much! You have to come to the conclusion that God doesn't fit in the box of religion, that's what I say anyway, cause this book completely blows the box out of the water! It's very insightful though if you've got the insight to see it!

RE: Khaled Hosseini: The Kite Runner

Very interesting read. It gave me a perspective of Afghanistan that I wouldn't have had before. I like when authors are able to educate me along with telling me a story.

Kenneth Benton: FDR - A day of infamy

I like this book because I wrote it. All the chapters are good and I learned by my research some very striking truths that came out about this war. Every country the (allies) wanted the best of Hitlers scientists to come work for them.
I think it would make a good reading for high school.
