Anyone know how a fine can be served. i called the police on this matter, and was told a fine can be left anywhere on your property.

Sounds pretty darn fishy, when i proceeded to say, a fine cannot be served unless handed to the person, mailbox or registered mail, the police officer hung up on me.

anyone know this answer legally on how the law applies to someone recieving a fine.

I guess i have a brain, and maybe that was what it was about.
I asked questions, and forbid me that i asked a darn question.
Adults should be seen and not heard.

At least it wasn't like the movie the Changling when the police force could have you committed as quote "violent person

Fines for what? When you are pulled over and given a ticket for a traffic offence - the amount of the fine is written on your ticket, which is handed to you by the Cop. If you are caught speeding or running a red with the cameras, or parking tickets, they are mailed to the registered owner of said vehicle - the amount of the fine is on the ticket, with instructions on how to pay. If, you get a DUI or such, and have to appear in Court, the judge orders the amount of the fine and the Court Clerk will tell you how to remit payment.
Warrants, are served in person as are court orders (think family law stuff like divorce, custody and access etc) as well as restraining orders- whether by police officers or sherrifs. Registered mail does not work, because they cannot prove that the particular person actually read and understood said document. I hope this helps you angel
