Yes, what you look like is important, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder-- there is someone for everyone!
So.. looks aside for a second here,
would you be brave enough to put up pictures of your house in your profile? I mean pictures of the inside.. showing the way you life?
Are you neat or a clutter monkey?
Would you be willing at this moment.. if someone were to knock on your door, Invite them in without hesitation?
Clues that you house is too messy.. 1. you lay down the newspaper that you just read an article in, when you try to find it to finish reading it.. it takes you an hour to find it again because of the 2 year supply of papers laying around in every room. 2. when you wash dishes.. you have to walk through the entire house trying to find them first?
3. when it is trash day.. you just don't bother.. because you cant tell where the trash ends and where the keepsakes begin!
Is funny in so many profile pictures they only put up a real close shot of them self, but if you look close at the picture.. looks worse than Catrina aftermath in the background.
so back to the original question. Would you be brave enough to put up photos of the inside of your house?
After working 60 hours a week and tending to my daughters needs. My house got messy. It took a little therapy to get over it. I was not superwoman. Now I have the time, it is much easer. Still a little messy, but the basics are in good shape.
rasgumby: I could just hope!! But I think a first invite inside would be a good indicator.
I odd, some of the best dressed people... You can't sit down in their house without moving a pile first.
Have seen some so bad that even the bed is completely covered.. and they sleep on the couch
The only reason for me that I would hesitate is that I am a rather private person - not many have seen the inside of my house - at least not until I get to know them better. My house is a reflection of me in a sense as the artwork, furniture even my dishes are a personal choice. My place is tidy, that is to say that everything has it's place, however, you may find the odd dust bunny - I do have a cat so there could be cat hair on the couch. I am by no means the 'white glove' that my sister is as my house definately looks lived in.

Know exactly what you mean, but why are many of these people that don't work
One of the worse things I have seen yet is a gal that kept a large dog kennel under the kitchen table, and the kennel hadn't been cleaned in years at least. and in her bathroom.. so many dirty clothes around the toilet that all you could see was the seat. ( this was a house that I was replacing the ceiling tiles in)

I have seen both extremes, Have seen a few where you would never see a speck of dust, never see even 1 dirty dish and so on. had a local stray cat hit by a car out front, was in really bad shape, so I brought him in and doctored him back to health, I had to vac the furniture every day. I sat catfish out on the counter to thaw.. later when I went to cook it, he had already had a free dinner... needless to say.. at this point he was well enough to become a stray again!

rasgumby: Then honestly.. would you feel comfortable spending the night in such a mess? Not talking about disarray... That is different, I mean in filth.
To be honest I have no worries about peeps coming to my home even with the huge hours I work..
But to be honest their are a couple of woman I know that I hate entering the home cause Im afraid to drink from their coffee mugs

Just imagine how popular you would have been with the other local cats - not only did you take one in and help him when he needed help but you fed him well too!
I had a neighbor that was a sweet woman - but I had heard about the condition of the inside of her house from other neighbors. We would chat on the front lawn but I would never go inside. They eventually condemned her house and it was moved out (mobile home) - all of her neighbors oddly enough had mouse problems shortly after.
Maybe some never learn to clean properly, but there is a difference between being messy and being dirty. I do go through a fair amount of 'Mr. Clean'.
Mercedes1: I beleive that when a person comes to visit me its to visit me and not their to count the dust particles that hopefully arent their
I visit mates that their homes are disgraceful but as I said Im their for my mates not to be judgemental on the way they live
I look at the entire package. Especially if it is someone that I and dating or would think about living with. I just won't be someones maid. so to speak.
just the same as most women do not want a man that they have to constantly pick up after.

Well I was talking about my girlfriends on this thread..
I dont know I mean if I was to date a guy and his home was messy so what
Their are much more draconian things happening in the world and I see past peoples way of living as a way to determine a relationship as long as their not drug addicts and alcholics alls good in my book!
Whoa you should see some of the gents backgrounds .... talk about needing a tidy up! Or the pictures of them in the WC mirror bare chested, the piles of books, mags and pc equipment everywhere on the floor and couches stacked high. It's a messy world it seems, but personality still counts for more in the long haul, you can always rent a room.

Are you the last Mr. Clean?
Naaa, I am the one that has to live in it and I can't stand a lot of mess, I like things in their place, and for other to feel comfortable when they come here.
Had two females (friends/coworkers)come over for dinner one night, I think they were is shock kept saying how homey my place is. At least it made me feel good.

OMG... shes writing a BOOK!
I don't date those either
I raised my kids to pick up after themselves, Even my son if pretty tidy, I don't think that is a bad thing.
Hell, I have friends that are messy to, but that is their choice.
I had one friend so bad though that the last time I went to his house, he ask if I wanted a cup of coffee... looking around.. in mid day, baby roaches on everything.. I mean thousands of them.. climbing in and out and over everything.. coffee.. UMM...NO THANK YOU! Because I know for fact they were also in the coffee maker. were so many roaches that I wouldn't even set my coat down, kept it in my lap. They were even crawling all over the table.
needless to say.. have never and will never go back to that house!!
