The current epidemic of obesity in this country will have to be addressed by the next (my) administration if we are to get health care costs under control.

this is the 2nd thread you have done on overweight women and welfare -- why only women? poverty and obesity aren't exculsive to any one gender -- men and women both are suffering from this. obviously you have an issue with obese women and feel they should somehow be penalized for it. jmo
The point is that Obama made an issue out of it and the legitimacy of the statement was questioned. This thread merely includes certain web sites for validation and addresses the fact that it will be an issue in the future. I wasn't the one who brought it up to the national media during the campaign. It is all part of the national health care program and should be viewed as such.

Are you an overweight woman? Should you be scared? Tell us about it, be open...You're among friends...
I couldn't get the speech page to load as it was unavailable. I may be wrong but I thought he spoke of obesity among all Americans -- why are you focusing on just women?
I agree it is a dire health issue for both genders, adult and children alike. But it's also an issue beyond the control of the government (other than your suggestion that obese women be cut off from welfare - which I find to be a ridiculous statement - I hope you were kidding - if that is your idea of humor. No one, except the person involved, can control what we put in our mouths and how much exercise we get.

www.mosesorganic,org The women thing was what I came across first and so I went with it.
I don't get your point...we're all capable of researching on the internet...but I still think you have an issue with obese women. Perhaps that is what you should be researching.
Sweet_Sandy: if you don't like overweight ladys, thats fine, but don't go saying crap about us cuz there is nothing wrong with us
I am not aware that I stated what my preferences for women were. I am also not aware that I stated a dislike for them based solely on the basis of whether they were overweight(obese, fat)or not.
