toranoga: Sorry, I didn't spell check on the thread

This site is full of speeches...could you be more specific as to where(date) he said this. All the speeches are by date....but I don't want to read them all. Can you specify which speech he stated that overweight WOMEN would receive less funds, please!

I browsed thru most of them -- didn't see any that targeted overweight women and welfare.

Charli15695: I don't get your point...we're all capable of researching on the internet...but I still think you have an issue with obese women. Perhaps that is what you should be researching.

I really don't care what you think and the issue is not what you wish to make it out to be.

Perhaps if you read all of them, you would have a much better idea of what Obama really stands for.

I know what he stands for...I don't have to read every speech...as I am sure you haven't!!

So are you going to enlighten us, or continue to play your silly games??

Not everyone in his cabinet agree with him 100%...that's called being Republican! Just because someone in the government makes a statement, that doesn't mean OBama said it, as you claim

Whether I have or not isn't the point, you can't prove he didn't say it and you are looking for an out.

In response to: The current epidemic of obesity in this country will have to be addressed by the next (my) administration if we are to get health care costs under control.

Report on the affects of obesity in women and the related increse in heart and circulatory disease.

Other than a nitwit, a halfwit and a twit with little humor who took themselves way too seriously, the discussion last night was civil, lively and addressed issues that will be debated at length in this administration. Thanks for your contributions!

"The statistics spell out the dilemma. The number of Americans on food stamps topped 31.5 million in September, a record high. Obesity, too, is at epidemic levels: In 30 states, at least 25 percent of the population is dangerously overweight. Nationally, 31.9 percent of children are considered overweight or obese.

For decades, the government has treated hunger and obesity as unrelated phenomena. But at a recent news conference in Chicago, Tom Vilsack, President-elect Barack Obama's choice for agriculture secretary, said that he would put "nutrition at the center of all food assistance programs," a signal that he will get involved next year when Congress moves to reauthorize nutrition programs that support school breakfasts and lunches and summer food for children."

this among many articles I have read and none lay claim to reducing food stamps for obese women. Moreso, they talk of obesity in regards to the general public, not discrimmating against only women. And in even more articles it talks of farmers markets to increase a healthy choice of food for lower income families...(not just women), also they go into more detail about healthier food in the school food programs...anyways, this is getting to be quite boring as you cant come up with direct and valid proof of your "sources"

Your information is inaccurate and just plain false. But say whatever it takes to justify it in your head

It is not an out, if you are so damned sure this guy is as great as you think he is, you should know all about him and should be able to dispute anything that is not true if in fact it is not true.
