I work with my two sons and have done for around fifteen years. Would you like see so much of your offspring, or would you prefer them to go their own way?
I own a company and my son runs it. We talk about it everyday. I feel I am the lucky man alive being able to share my son's adult life in a small part. It allows us to live close by each other and to interface constantly. I wouldn't want it any other way.
I would love to do this in the future...if they can outgrow the "he touched me" and smacking each other phase!
Seriously, we've discussed this, and at least one of my sons might end up working with me as a massage therapist in the future, while he goes to school as a chiropractor. The older one wants to be a dentist, and go in the Air Force, so I doubt it would be all three of us...but I'd love to see that happen if he changes his mind to something more in line with his brother and I.
Don't take that wrong...I support him in his dreams as they stand now, I just would welcome the chance to work closely with, or close to, both of them.

Same here John. Its our own business, but sometimes It feels more like they are my business partners rather than my sons.

"I want my children, well, teenagers to do what they feel is right for them. But,it would be awesome to be able to work with my sons,as they are such a delight to have around and, they make me laugh."

We are able to separate business from family pretty well. I respect and trust all of his decisions and judgement. I figure it is his to run--profit or loss. It doesn't matter because in the long run he will acquire the business and it will be his in the future.
I would love to work with my son and see him more. I would never want him to go his own way or be farther away from me. He is the best part of me and I could never see him too much.
