There's a difference between honest people and naive people and I think what you are referring to is naievity. Naievity is all about innocence and inexperience and has nothing to do with honesty or luck. You will get taken in by scheisters when you are naieve but, hopefully, experience will set in and you will then start to spot them before you are fooled.
The downside is that we all become harder and more cynical as a result of being taken in but that's life. Just remember to take more time in getting to know someone before taking doing anything intimate with them.

well maybe u have right,is naivity,but all here on net we must have trust,when we chat with someone at least,a little,i was not refering at something intimate,i was refering ,when u chat with someone 2 months in net he tells you his life and when u meet that person in real u discover the true about him,other things.The downside is that we all become harder and more cynical as a result of being taken in but that's life. I'm sorry to hear this happened to you, Claudya. I don't know what you discovered about him that was so bad once you met, but I'm sorry. Better after investing only a couple of months, though, rather than a year or more.
Just don't give up, sweetie. There are genuine people out there, and I hope you find the right one soon.

I doubt you meant to say it this harshly, but man... Sounds like you're attacking her when you phrase it like that. Guess you are a bit rusty eh?
Just teasing you, And honest people can have a harder time because, a quote I heard a long time ago, "people judge others the way they judge themselves", meaning a liar trusts nobody and vice-versa. It ain't completely accurate, I know plenty of honest people who trust no one, but I mean in general. Honest people are prone to being a bit gullible (It took me years to learn to screen people, lol) and can be taken advantage of.
Also, I've noticed honest (Not blunt honest, like myself) people tend to be worried about offending people, they tend to be rather sensitive. This means they also get taken advantage of by people who know these weaknesses. Be more assertive, be less worried about hurting another person - especially if they're hurting you - and be willing to move on to the next person.

My husband is honest to the max..and so am i..
Millions of people out there..i think maybe people
just pick the first person who comes along instead
of sitting back and getting to know one another first..
Everything takes time..
My husband and i did not just meet quickly..even though
he wanted to..
Nope i wouldnt do that...I have children to consider and

We got to know one another here..emails..phone...
and no surprise when we met..

Reading through your post...it seems like you have nothing better to do. What is with being honest to yourself first? People cannot read minds. I could be your mother easy and I am European too...living in the US...being on a dating site you should have known by now, that a lot of strange things happen. I did the internet dating now for 2 years and leave it. My advise to you is very simple. "PUT OUT WHAT YOU LIKE TO HAVE BACK".
Practice the law of attraction, find out who you are and get of this site if you don't like it. Be aware you are sitting behind a monitor and type away without having to face anyone. This frees you from a lot of insecurities and you say often what you never would say in person that soon. You only feed into what others like to see. Meet people face to face and you will find honest poeple all around you. Most important don't assume every one is dishonest. Their is always the exeption to the rule. Develop a thicker skin...this is cyberspace and a lot happens...GO BY YOUR GUT!! If it doesn't feel right don't do it.
