Munching away I thought how sometimes you just need a snack that makes you happy,- something to feeds the hunger and the soul a little.
Ants on a log (a stick of cellery, filled with peanut butter and a few raisins sitting on) is the kind of food my mother should have made for me and never did.. (but thats another story..)
Anyway, the friend who showed me this, and shared with me how his single mum had made them for him when he was a boy, always comes to mind when I eat it and it makes me smile.
Do you have any snacks you like to eat that bring a smile to your face?

I put granola bars in yogurt very very good crunchy creamy, salty sweet in a way a perfect food.

Chocolate bars, mainly the treat size ones. I have about 6 a day. Oh and cream doughnuts and chocolate filled croissants. Cinnamon toast, made the old-fashioned way (as Mom used to make when I was a child)...in the oven, butter, sugar, cinnamon. Add a glass of ice-cold milk and it's a beautiful thing indeed. A mouthful of memories!

I like artic roll. Its a lemon ice cream rolled in a sponge. It is lovely. I haven't had it in quite a while.

I am curious jlb: how is that toast made?
I do a thing we call "french toast" for my kids, where I dunk a slice of bread in an egg/milk mix and then fry on both sides,- then sprinkle liberally with cinnamon/sugar

This is how I do it, butter your bread and put it in the broiler with the butter side up, as the toast is toasting I mix some cinnamon with sugar to your taste of course, after the toast is done to your liking add the cinnamon and sugar to the toast and let it melt some . very yummy enjoy I do a thing we call "french toast" for my kids, where I dunk a slice of bread in an egg/milk mix and then fry on both sides,- then sprinkle liberally with cinnamon/sugar
