I am wondering if any of you find that the longer you have been on your own, the harder it is to want to share your space, or perhaps even have to change things about yourself to accomodate someone else?
I use to be a very accomodating individual, but, i find now that i may be getting a bit more selfish in thinking about what i want instead of what someone else wants.
Second part to this question is do any of you think that just means the right person has not come along?
I am interested in hearing your replies....bestat45

You've asked a great question. It is very hard to give up space that was all yours. I was 9 yrs on my own.

In my case the right person has come a long. We are older and because he is on the road for a few days a week, I have space but rearranging furniture is the same as giving up some space. No matter how good the relationship is, there will always be a period of adjustment, and re-organizing.

You are not alone in feeling it is harder to give up or share your space. Those are normal feelings to have. It does not mean you are not in the right relationship, just means you are normal. :-)

JMO, each are giving up some of their own space, need to be patient, and open minded about adjusting to sharing space, & keeping some of your own space.

i am not currently in a relationship, but, the last one, this was certainly an issue for me. Not about furniture, but, personal space. You do get used to coming and going as you please etc..., and after awhile it is difficult to imagine giving this up. I believe it must take the right person, and as you said KHD100, being patient and open minded. It will still be interesting to hear the view point of both genders. thanks for your viewpoint...

We have shared space (his) for longish visits, but we both agreed that we wanted our own spaces for now. I will only live down the road and I am sure we will spend alot of time at each other's places, but, for us now, we choose to walk small steps together and slow it down. We are able to do that now that I am relocating...kinda like we are going "go steady" heart wings It is what we need...each to their own, right? yay
