I have been more scanning, and becoming familuar to Online dating, Tho it seems as a walk thru a Casino! A pretty face, a useres name, How a Profie can hide a Lie, with as little as a dark Picture, or a coment noted as, a few extra lbs, Being 80, or a pimple face taking a distant pic, so you cant see the truth? How long can we be played by the inevidable? How do we know, How do we find out early in the Game? Because it is like a Game of Chess, What kind of SURPRISES Will we find?

Open for your experiences, Coments , Sugestions, just how much do you know, before thinking to meet someone? Just something that brings alot of questions to minddoh confused

Sounds Kinda Scarygrin After flying Many miles, what should we expect to find?

It's all about online marketing... but there is no Better Business Bureau for internet dating yet. lol

You just need to read between the lines, ask the right questions, and talk on the phone early on, in order to get the feel for what kind of person you're dealing with.

Personally, I've only come across one master sociopath out of hundreds I've communicated with online... so the odds of most people being relatively upfront are pretty good.

Keep your chin up and don't get discouraged.

I feel when, say you start emailing someone, You just make conversation, send a few notes, Cards Ect. Seems when you start asking deeper questions they fade away, They have to hide from the truth, or they feel Guilty or what.

Kinda like Bill clinton said about the Queers! Dont ask , dont tell policy! Ha Ha

Assume the worst and reap the joy of finding out it's not that bad....LOL.

Seriously though.... I would not FLY anywhere to see someone unless I had already spoken to them via web-cam. That's too much of an investment unless you were already going to be in the area visiting friends or family or for work.

I like to meet folk early on so I only "shop" in my area. Meeting someone answers most of the questions pretty quickly. You know if you have chemistry, you know if they kinda fudged their age or weight or outright lied about it.

Internet dating is no different that any other type of dating... the skeletons in the closet never jump out right away.

And not everything contradictory you find out about a person is a direct lie. Even at the mature ages of 40, 50, and 60 people don't always know themselves. We fool ourselves just as much as we fool others.

No shows are the worst. I would rather meet and find out someone was lying than go and wait for someone who doesn't show up. If you chicken out because you actually weigh 50 lbs more than you said you did or because you are bald and 60 when you show a pic of yourself at a much younger 40 with a full head of hair at least have the decency to send an e-mail stating that you are sorry but you couldn't face up to your own distortion of reality.
