This is a non-religion based forum. I didn't join a "Christian" dating website, nor did I join a non-christian dating website.

I didn't join an atheistic dating website or a secular humanistic website, nor did I join a catholic, protestant or other.

Why is it that if 1)you don't like the bible or christians in general you post so much about it?

Why is it that if your intention is to find a mate who is christian do you not just join a Christian dating website?

I am confused as to why there are so many posts bashing people of faith on here. If god doesn't exist, why post anything about him at all?

This is something that confuses me to. Unfortunately if this thread goes the way of others that have asked the same question it will end up a religion bashing thread to.

I think you are referring to a thread I just glanced through. When I read some of the posts I had the feeling that the OP just wants to get people ranting. Maybe he is bored.

God as a noun, is a personal subject. For someone to ask, "if you can't prove that He exists, can you prove that He doesn't exist" is nonsense.

You know as well as I do that some people like to argue, always looking for confrontation. I don't go in the religious or political threads because they are subjects of personal preference. But I respect you Doc wanted to give you my thoughts that I think your thread hits it right on target.....Leave God Alone!

I am too and don't see why there has to be a right and wrong belief system when it is indeed a personal choice...my beliefs are my beliefs and I certainly don't expect anyone to share them because they are not any doctrine...they are mine and what works for me....wave wink hug kiss hug heart beating

One of the reasons that there are religious as well as political and other categories in threads, is because people with similar interests often seek each other out.

They are not intended as people or faith bashing threads, but human nature being what it is, people like to argue, me included sometimes, for fun.

Have any of you noticed that the threads that often get the most attention are the ones where people are tearing into each other?

It's like watching a drama unfold on tv. Some people love drama and some even like horror. Here you even get to participate if you like.

rolling on the floor laughing

It certainly makes for diversity......

Yeah, I can see that. I just notice it more when 4 of the items on the front forum page are

do you believe in...
can you be rational and believe
keeping the sabbath

etc.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, as the case may be, this site is made up of LOTS of diversity. Don't think there's anything wrong with bringing up religion --- or anything else for that matter-----as long as people can discuss it RATIONALLY, that being the operative word. It's the "I'm right, you're wrong" mentality that makes it tough to take. What ever happened to live and let live??? dunno
