Comfort foods are usually the old time dishes that have been around forever that mom's and grandmom's would make on rainy days, cold winter days and when you didn't feel good. Some examples would be, shepards pie, meatloaf, homemade mac and cheese, a good old fashioned stew, warm milk toast when you didn't feel so good, bread pudding, stuff like that.
