Angel, I don't know that many details about this story. What do you mean she missed two letters that could have saved her life? I'm very curious about this. Could you explain? Thanks.

I heard that too. Apparently she had a couple of letters informing her that they'd found abnormal cells and that she was to go back to the hospital...but she didn't. So consequently, they turned cancerous and by that time, it was too late to do anything.

That's really horrible...a lesson for eveyone...very frightening. You have to wonder how anyone could ignore a negative result and not get rechecked. It's really sad, pathetic. She was not a likeable person, to me, but I still feel sorry for anyone who has to face cancer, or any death sentence...

i agree she wasnt that likeable...but i have to say once given the news she has in al fairness made it very public and i hope it saves lives..
as for her......getting a bit fed up of her being made out to be a staint or Princess Di's equal...not that i cared for her either...sorry i didnt....

Why should Ms. Goody be made a saint? How do you define saint, gilly? As far as I know, only the Catholic Church chooses saints. I think the last one was Mother Theresa, not sure. It takes a whole lot to become a saint, as far as the Church is concerned.
Not being Catholic, I don't see the point in anyone being designated a saint. For Catholics, well, guess it's up to them, but I doubt they are considering Ms. Goody.
It's terrible to have to die, and it's very terrible to die young. Millions of people die everyday, all around the world. We don't know how good or bad they were or what they gave to humanity, but I'll bet many of them gave as much as anyone who is/was famous. I rather give a few thoughts to all of them than single out one person.
