Snuggs09: This weekend I was doing my housecleaning and not feeling well at the same time.
I thought how nice it would be it someone else was doing it.
What about you.
Do you have a cleaning lady?
Do you wish you had one.
I used to have about 2 years ago - she would collect my son from school for me and then do 2 hours cleaning in my home. It worked well for me because that one day I week I could get so much work done without clock-watching. Plus, I got home to a cleanish house (2 hours is not long enough for a full clean)and maybe even a bit of ironing thrown in, result!
My mother used to have one...and she'd clean before the cleaning lady got there.
No, I have no desire for having someone else do my housework, even though I'm not particularly fond of it. It makes me feel better afterward when it is done...and I find satisfaction in it.
Having a partner to help with it, though, would be nice someday. For now, I have my sons help me when I want to do things like move furniture to get underneath it. They hate it, and it's a battle getting it done in the right rhythm at times, but we manage. Teenagers!

That's another point Dru. I was trying to turn my mattress and just had an awful time trying to do it. My arms aren't as strong as they used to be. There was a time when I could just flip it and be done with it. It took a long time to slide it around and get it turned over.
Tamarin: I am cleaner, cook, gardener, handyman, washer woman, Mom and goodness knows what else all unpaid
Then I have my job.....
Yep...same here...and I love it! Someday I'll want to share life with someone special again, but for now I enjoy the satisfaction from doing it all by myself, or with the help of my sons. A feeling of accomplishment when a hard task is done, or one sits back and says, "I can do this!" I've learned to treasure it for now.
I treat myself to having a woman come one day a week to clean and change/wash bedding. I regret I didn't do it years ago. It's so nice to come home on a Friday after work and everything is so clean and nice.

Understood. I can't turn mine now by myself either...I had to replace the mattress in my room because it was his dad's and had dried blood on it from him, and I bought a Tempupedic set because of my fibromyalgia. They're too heavy for me to turn alone. Trust me, I give thanks a lot for having been given two healthy, sturdy, and strong sons.

Yes, and she is a very nice lady who has cleaned for us for almost a decade now; since last year she took on the added responsibilty of being a carer and had a well-deserved pay rise - so now she come in as a carer for 1.5 hours and then carries on with her cleaning 'hat' for another couple of hours.
She's on duty tomorrow as a carer, but it's a public holiday so I don't want her to do any cleaning as her youngest son will be off from school; on public holidays I believe you should be spent as much as possible with your own family!
