I was wondering if anyone has seen the movie 'The Amber Alert'. I watched it about a month ago.
A true story of a little girl who was kidnapped and murdered at 9 I think her age was.
Her mother rallied to have the Amber Alert sent out to all Emergency Departments when a child goes missing....as it was stressed it was important to find children within the first 24 hours of going missing. Now when a suspected child abduction occurs the Amber Alert is sent to Police etc.
But bloody hell I blubbered my eyes out in the movie

yes I saw the film
I will tell you another heart breaking film 'I know my first name is Steven' I cried from start to finnish .
He was abducted and years later reuinted with his family. Died young.
Hey his younger brother Cory Stayner is on death row in the USA.
He murdered about 4 (or 6 ) people.
I was so sad to hear of that, as I thought the family had been through enough already

Never saw the movie, but I know the story well. I think that her mother was an amazing person to do that for others and unfortunately, we do get amber alerts-from all over the states. Even if a child is abducted in Florida, it is shown here as well.

It was heart breaking what happened Steven Stayner , no exageration ,but I don't think I will ever forget his story .
As for his brother , that was sad too. That family were torn apart with what happened to Steven, but I can't imagine what went through there minds when it was found that Cory was a mass killer.

On September 16, 1989, just before 5:00pm PDT while riding home after his shift at Pizza Hut, his motorcycle was involved in a collision with a car that pulled out into traffic. Steven received head injuries that were to prove fatal; he died at the Merced Community Medical Center at 5:35pm

sxc666: So do you know what happened to Stephen?
Yes he died in a moterbike crash.
His Mam and girlfreind used to worry that he sped around on his bike . He must have been doing that to try stop his poor head from racing. That or he ment to die

I have to say i would have tried to avoid that movie.I don't like movies like that even if they are uplifting.
sxc666: Maybe I should re-word that as most of us wouldn't give up on our kids even in death.
What I meant is she didn't lay down, she fought tooth and nail to change the system.
I know what you meant hunni, but a whole lot of people would crumble and just fall for a long time...she had something special in her to be able to do that for others. Quite a sacrifice of self, in my opinion.
I couldn't imagine losing my son at any age, let alone a small child
As for Steven, that was disturbing in a different way-there are too many stories such as these. No child should ever have to suffer in any way, let alone what they went through.
My heart sinks when there is an Amber alert. They do sometimes turn out good-but mostly not.
