I have no trouble being a dad, in fact kind of miss it... do dad's get "empty nest syndrom?"
I would have been one much sooner if the fact had not been hidden from me for 8 years... but as soon as I found out you can bet I did all I could and still do even though my oldest son is turning 25 this year.
But I know what you mean, the other two 'kids' I consider my own are just as easy for me to be there for...well my daughters 'father' literally told me to my face when he was visiting the kids, better me then him... All I could think was with that attitude..yeah no &*^@$ better me then him!!
Any parent of either gender that simply ignores or shuns their child because they "can't be bothered" etc etc...
ooooo yeah well lets just say I have a new idea for a reality show that involves an island and a TRUE survival skill...

I would call her a liar unless she for some reason took 12 years to give birth.
