Old Psalms Twenty Three

There's an old tear stained, worn King James
Bible on my night stand that was left to me.
I can hear my Nanny Saunders now say
It won't ever let you down.
And it never has.
So I turned to the Psalms straight to the one.
That I can quote by heart.
But the words that used to comfort me
Are tearing me apart.

He leadeth me through death's dark valley
And by the still waters too.
Surly goodness and his mercy
Are gonna pull me through.
But tonight I've wrestled with the devil.
Wrestled with the truth.
If the lord is my shepherd, And I shall not want.
Then why do I still want and need some kind of peace of mind.

All my friends and family say this will end.
Cause, I'm the strong one
If they only knew how much
I cover up the strong one.
So, I've been praying and I've been waiting.
For some kind of peace of mind.
And memories of my late
will not hurt so bad
And so, I'm still leaning on
Old Psalms twenty three.

I loss my husband, will be 3 years this coming up August 15! He was killed on a 4-Wheeler. So, I do pray that it will get easier and not hurt anymore. Now you will probley understand my sad poems. I use to write ones not so misty but, I write what I feel now.

Sorry about your loss, that date is singled out for many reasons.

The media will forever discuss it ( Elvis Presley ) and you will never forget it.




Hold on to the memories you have and know that peace can fill your heart.
