what if you had in your possession an antique that you found out was worth fifty thousand dollars. would you sell it or keep it for sentimental reasons? on antique road show people say oh i would never part with it. i wonder how many really keep it or can't wait to sell it

Firstly, you can't take it with you.

I have nothing in my collectibles worth such an amount.

Those things that have sentimental value are just that and they don't hold a price tag. I have heard it called the KISS factor....keep it simple.

Honestly, it would depend on the sentimental value it held for me if I had such a piece. At this point, I'd probably sell it, though. I'm getting rid of a lot of "stuff" and just keeping the memories. It's time.

I'd sell it cause it's only a material object.I'd donate the money I recieved to a charity.

If I had something I could sell for 50000, it would be gone. I could pay off my house.

It would depend on what the object was, who it belonged to, and how much it meant to me. Somethings I might sell, but some no amount of money could make me sell.
