well heres one my preteen is drivin me crazy with this belly button piercing I SAY NO WAY.tHEN WHATS DIF ALOT KIDS ARE DOIN IT.Iretort back with they must be sneakin gettin it done.I dont know of any patent letting it be done.

A co-worker of mine said no to her daughter (age 15). The daughter went out and had it done anyway.
So the mom gave her an option on the punishment. Either take the belly button ring out and be grounded a day for disobeying OR leave the ring in and be grounded for a month with no cell phone.
The daughter chose to leave the ring "IN" with out even thinking about it. Which made her mom realize just how important that belly button ring was to her.

when we first moved here...
Sarah goes to middle school, and because the laws state noone under a certain age, and without an adult...
well, one such girl (12, I believe) and a freind thought they'd do it themselves in the bathrooms...with safetypins.
they were caught..and, it did become infected...
I am betting the parents were NOT happy... but, they still said no.
Depends on parents I suppose. I won't let Sarah, and she's 14. When I feel she's mature enough to make that decision based on common sense...then maybe...but, bet she don't.
Purpose? as a cool thing? no, that's not an accuse.

I just let her get her ears pierced.To me 13 is little to young to have belly ring then itll be shirts wore too high or low to show it off

at 15 no young girl should be getting a belly button ring...the reason for the belly button ring is to show it off with short shirts, etc...and the cell phone being taken away for a month....what kind of punishment is that? she should have had to take the piercing out and had the punishment....the punishment of staying in her room with no tv, no phone calls, no friends over...its a belly button piercing, why would someting so trivial be so important. I don't get it. Sounds to me like she knows how to work her mom.

Some parents do not care what their children do. Take my sister for example...she lets her daughters smoke weed. They probably got a belly ring too!!!!!
