Yes, my neighbour (not Ramone but Juan) is coming over to repair the damage later.....and confiscate the drill.

No! it's Spanish plaster, you need a road drill to get through it. correct Jan?

Well I kind of made half holes with the drill, but it scared me, so I used a hammer to insert the thingies to hang the picture on.

Both drill and hammer resulted in the plaster loss.

Thin, Spanish interior walls also laugh

Most hardware stores sell a self-tapping plastic anchor w/a phillips head. Just "tap" where you want the hole with a nail. Then start the anchor with the phillips screw tip until it's flush with the wall. Then just screw in a 1" screw into the anchor. It'll hold forever.

So easy a caveman could do it. grin

Depends on the kind of wall behind the plaster......works well with wooden or plasterboard walls.....but not stone ones.....may be wiser to drill a clean hole and use fischer screws......

LOL

Actually, those plastic screw in achors are great. They'll hold a lot of weight on a wall. I'll see if I can track one down online. wave

Very interesting trinket that actually Indy.....would you believe me if I tell you have never seen them before?

.....and believe me.....I do a hell of a lot of DIY over here....but then we got solid stone walls mostly and plasterboard walls are not very common uc.

...but thanks for an interesting discovery from my part.....

Thanks again Indy, I think they sound like just what I need.

I checked my toolbox....rolling on the floor laughing I do have one, my brother adds to it when he visits Spain. I have a philips screwdriver too, which I´ve never used.

When I get my nerve again I may attempt to use it.

We use them at work for a lot of projects. Wouldn't work well in stone, for sure. <lol>

I would just super-glue the picture to stone. laugh
