Prayer for the New Year ( Archived) (7)

God grant us this year a wider view
So we see each others' faults through the eyes of You
Teach us to judge not with hasty tongue,
Neither the adult...or the young,
Give us the patience and grace to endure
And a stronger faith so we feel secure,
And instead of remembering, help us to forget
The irritations that caused us to fret,
Freely forgiving for some offense
And finding each day a rich recompense
In offering a friendly, helping hand
And trying in all ways to understand
That all of us, whoever we are
Are trying to reach "an unreachable star"
For the great and small...the good and bad,
The young and old...the sad and glad
Are asking today "Is life worth living?"
And the answer is only in loving and giving
For only love can make the man kind
And kindness of heart brings peace of mind,
And by giving love we can start this year
To lift the clouds of hate and fear.

Kris this is beautiful ... thank you for sharing because I need to hear those words and remind myself to look beyond sometimes where I cannot see and that by claiming peace and joy I will have the patience to endure and overcome and learn to let go.

Today is a personal celebration for me of enduring a battle which I thought that I might lose at some points ...... but I realize that the battle is not over it is just the beginning. So prayers for strength, patience and wisdom are appreciated.

The answer is life worth living - no doubt about it because I'm looking forward to the sun shining through my window.
