Tonight, Saturday, I decided to go find people in the flesh, so to speak. I ended up at Smedley's Bar, Cleveland, a known biker bar. Yeah, thought I could tear it up tonight.
The music a blues band was great. I ended up meeting someone, Renee, a woman there alone, kind of out like I was. We ended up at the same table and talking. So we decided to be running buddies, email exchanged, etc....
Gotta say, she is a guy magnet, blonde, and I don't get it, but the lead guitarist was ALL OVER her. She laughed when I told her I'd be glad to take her runoffs.
Monday night is our next night out. So tonight ended up being fun after all. The whole bar seemed to be coupled up, except for a few stray women.
Love a woman that has the self confidence to walk into a bar alone. Most won't without an army of friends. I understand why. If I were a woman, I'd likey never go in alone. Paws
Wrong attitude Paws, when a woman goes with friends the men are afraid to be turned down with witnesses, so he doesn't go near you. But you go alone the men flock to you, less pressure on the guy, he will buy you a drink and try his best line on you. When you are alone you don't have your girlfriends going after the guys that came over to meet you either. With self-confidence you know how to have fun.
It did take some guts to walk into that bar, just pulling up to the parking place did. There must have been 30 bikes parked outside, and a lot of guys hanging out there. I waved at them and came in and nursed a few beers. It is easier to go in places with a friend.
It was fun, because I got what I went for, good music. Met a potential girlfriend to hang out and meet up with in local places.
She is a guy magnet, I thought that was funny. She invited me to join her and the guitarist for breakfast but I didn't want to butt in there.
The only guy that came up to me while I was alone there, was a white haired biker, who told me he was 59 and had a stroke last December. He said he had too much to drink and wanted to know if I'd take a walk with him down Lorain Ave. I said no thanks, I wanted to hear the band. Then he asked me if I wanted to ride on his Harley! I said no thanks, if you had too much to drink I don't think so. We talked a few minutes more and he left my table.
Old post or not.........it's true. Most bikers are very friendly and good people and they do watch out for others. I have a lot of biker friends I love to go riding with. Nothin like that feeling of the sun on your face and the wind in your hair.
Thank gawd there are no helmet laws here in Arizona......hate that helmet hair look.
