no, my town boomed economically. To the point where those who lived there for years could sell their homes for quadruple what they paid. But those who worked regular jobs ended up on the bottom. Couldn't afford rent, food, to pay the bill. I was once in the position have have five other people living with me just to make ends meet. Eventually I had to sell nearly eveything I had just to move away.

Sounds like the rising tide, missed alot of boats.
I knew a family that built their retirement dream house. They couldn't actually afford the house so they shopped for good deals on the materials and built the house themselves. It was beautifull, rough sawn lumber, a feildstone fireplace, and the south wall was two stories of glass only seperated by the support beams. Unfortunately it appraised for to much money when they were done. They had to sell it because they couldn't afford the property taxes.

Have you lived someplace that collasped economically?
What was it like? How did things change? Did any new opportunities come with the change? Did it come back from oblivion? If so, how?
If I choose to stay, should I try my hand at dealing crack,
or auto theft?
