dodgemaguire: No offense....!! But this site blows..too be honest. In my opinion lads, ye would have better success at just being social with people in a real life situation, it doesn't matter if you're shy, they aren't going to eat the head of you..and even if they do, move onto the next one, simple as!!...it beats staring at a laptop/pc screen on a nightly basis in fairness, wishing and hoping on responses...I've been on here a year and a half and during that space of time, i figured that i have had more success in gaining friendship leading into possible relationships through going out and having a good time rather than cribbing about it on the threads.
I don't know if that fits into CS's grand scheme of things exactly, if it is it's excellent reverse psychology!!

Well as with anything else in life you get out what you put in. I have made some great friends from this site, have gone along to meets and met people in real life in order to get to know the faces and personalities behind the screen.
So my social life has improved greatly which was one of the reasons I joined in the first place.

I agree. Its a nice place for making friends, but nothing beats the reality of meeting a woman face-to-face, whether that be at a CS get together or a social get-together (of which there are plenty of opportunities in Ireland). All that having been said, I did meet and date a beautiful woman who I met on CS (she made the first move, one thing led to another, the rest is private).

I think even though this is a dating site, you need to think of it as a normal social networking site etc. Through chatting on the fora, you get to be a bit more comfortable with people, but you'll still need to meet them.
I don't think anyone uses this site as an alternative to social interaction. It's complementary. Anyone using this site as the great solution to all their love life problems is going to be in for a huge disappointment.

I totally agree - I love going out and having the craic and meeting people - just for the sake of interacting and having a laugh - but at the same time - when you live in a village - ok there are four pubs - but karioki is the highlight of Saturday night on the bank holiday - sorry not meaning to insult anyone who likes it - just not my thing - and most of my friends are smugly married - fair play to them all - I'm happy for them but going out with them to meet someone is like going to a hunt with a tank - it just doesn't work...
Anyway I'm not cribbing - just joined this site yesterday - and am hopeful that I'll meet people from outside of the village...
(is that a wolf I hear howling on the moors?) Anyway I can see both sides - but talk to me in a year - I might have a different opinion...

i agree about the local town thing and the smug marrieds... love my friends dearly but when they set me up with friends of friends who are single and they are guys that dont suit you at all and u have to go on the date or your the worst in the world... thats what gets me ... just cause your single another single person is the one for you
