I recognize this is not the sentiment of all; however I know I am in a good company of many:

Lou Pritchett is a former President of Procter& Gamble Far East Division.

Letter to NY Times

AN OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT OBAMA

Dear President Obama,

You are the thirteenth President under whom I have lived and unlike any of the others, you truly scare me.

You scare me because after months of exposure, I know nothing about you.

You scare me because I do not know how you paid for your expensive Ivy League education and your upscale lifestyle and housing with no visible signs of support.

You scare me because you did not spend the formative years of youth growing up in America and culturally you are not an American.

You scare me because you have never run a company or met a payroll.

You scare me because you have never had military experience, thus don't understand it at its core.

You scare me because you lack humility and 'class', always blaming others.

You scare me because for over half your life you have aligned yourself with radical extremists who hate America and you refuse to publicly denounce these radicals who wish to see America fail.

You scare me because you are a cheerleader for the 'blame America' crowd and deliver this message abroad.

You scare me because you want to change America to a European style country where the government sector dominates instead of the private sector.

You scare me because you want to replace our health care system with a government controlled one.

You scare me because you prefer 'wind mills' to responsibly capitalizing on our own vast oil, coal and shale reserves.

You scare me because you want to kill the American capitalist goose that lays the golden egg which provides the highest standard of living in the world.

You scare me because you have begun to use 'extortion' tactics against certain banks and corporations.

You scare me because your own political party shrinks from challenging you on your wild and irresponsible spending proposals.

You scare me because you will not openly listen to or even consider opposing points of view from intelligent people.

You scare me because you falsely believe that you are both omnipotent and omniscient.

You scare me because the media gives you a free pass on everything you do.

You scare me because you demonize and want to silence the Limbaughs, Hannitys, O'Relllys and Becks who offer opposing, conservative points of view.

You scare me because you prefer controlling over governing.

Finally, you scare me because if you serve a second term I will probably not feel safe in` writing a similar letter in 8 years.

Lou Pritchett

Soon the mask....will come off....When I see how much the dictators from other countries, like him, yes I get concerned. It is all in the hands of history now. A new Slient Majority may be here in a few years....History does repeat itself. So many following so few is what scares me. Thanks for the open letter it makes you think and thinking is a good thing. Question all who govern. If they won't answer your questions then be scared. A honest man only has to tell the truth once.

Thanks for this -

Many good and valid points are made.

Hope the voters realize this isn't the way to making America great again.

It scares me because the author speaks out of ignorance, and the fact that people are willing to line up behind ignorance just drives it home.....

Which parts of that OP do you consider ignorance?
Please don't say all of it.. I'd sincerely like to hear which issues were raised in that post that you are okay with too.

StressFree:

And the Republican party will have no influence in about 30 years...that party represents what is bad about America and it's slowly winding down. Democrats too...screw them as well, they are only the lesser of two evils.

Green Party=true change!!!!!

Not sure about the green party, but I do agree the Repubs are losing massive ground. When Moderate Republican Senators change parties to keep their incumbency, there's a serious problem highlighting the extremists in the party.

(I'm thinking Gordon Smith could have used a page from Specter's playbook. Eight years of Bush Cronyism wiped him from the political landscape of Oregon. The radicals voted for him, but all the fiscal Repubs voted Democrat this year.)

They should call the GOP the party that doesn't like itself anymore. doh

I dunno, they have said similar things about the Dems and yet they're still here.

I think one party or the other pisses off the voters or they get too comfortable and then "poof" they're gone for awhile. It's almost like it's power sharing but I can safely say they will never agree on anything just like us CSers..............laugh

I dunno either Spark. I just know that even the Republicans in my state cant stand the Republicans in DC. We have far more moderates here in Oregon than in the Bible Belt, say. So the rhetoric about
God and Country doesn't impress them. You know what impresses them? Smaller government and lower taxes. You know. The stuff that doesn't come from the Bible, but from sound political science.

Well, true change can only come from a new party that will arise in the future in American politics. If not Green, then something similar. I guarantee it.

Well, the last one concentrated too much on one aspect and not nearly enough on a small government. If ever the Rep party dies, it will die because those ultra conservative, religeous zealots drive people away. This is the reason I could never be a Rep and the Dems ultra Liberal, huge government policy is the reason I could never be a Dem. I'm simply caught in the middle.

Funny.. so many can just ignore the statements made in the OP and continue to hang tightly to the idea of change!!

The GOP will become a thing of the past huh? LOL ~ that's just funny. The GOP is the voice of reason that continually brings America back from her forays into the depths of ignorance. The GOP are the parents and the democratic and liberal idealists are children who will never grow up and take responsibility for themselves!
