Just stopped in to update on what is going on with the fire damage to our home and the community.
All contents of our house are now sitting outside the house in a temporary storage unit. The house still smells very smokey and the hole in the wall of the dining room is covered up with plywood.
All of the clothes including linens, towels, etc have been taken away, special cleaned and stored. We have been in a hotel now for almost 3 weeks and we are thinking we have about 3 more weeks to go with the house being restored.
Our neighbors who lost everything are starting to rebuild already. They had their lots cleared of debris and one house is having their foundation poured soon. Things are progressing for most people, but some have not done anything yet. I believe they are still trying to figure out weather to rebuild or not.
Personally, I have been having nightmares and I am still a nervous wreck. I have an appointment with a therapist next week to talk over what happened.
I hope all of you are doing well, and I will drop by time to time to give updates. Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers.
Hi Ken! I'm glad to hear that you're (somewhat) getting back on your feet. I'm sure it'll be a long journey. But as I always say... everything happens for a reason. Just not always sure what that reason may be.

One good thing is now I hate the smell of smoke so I will be extra careful not to burn toast...
