hathor: Hei MsMysteryArt,

I have honestly no idea what you are talking about.
If it helps, keep on writing down whatever is going through your mind.

Why don't you tell us more about what's it like to be an artist?

And how do you define artist?

Hi there and thanks for your interest! I'm back to my old self again - that is my old profile has been magically restored and so I ditched the temporary one (MsMysteryArt). Well there was some stuff going on here, people seemed offended and I felt rejected and the going got tense so I left. But Gilly here brought me back to the land of the living so I'm once more spilling my guts out for all to see, cause he asks me to... barf
Actually, there's a thread called "Artist desperately seeking British man" or something like that, not too far down the road, and it has loads of information that Gilly has been digging out of me about being an artist... you're more than welcome to ask questions if you have any after that! hug

I think there was some talk going on about this very issue (well who's a "creative person") on another thread.

Yes I do actually have one definition if you can be bothered to read through the other thread I mentioned and I think I described what I feel it means as opposed to doing art in a therapeutic sense. Of course, the POINT where you can call yourself an artist with a good conscience is hard to define. Usually it has to do with how much you produce over a certain period of time and how much you show in exhibitions. IMO it does NOT have anything to do with whether you sell your work or not. That's an old fashioned definition of a professional artist. Ok, granted that professional is a tough term too. But your activity speaks louder than the money it brings in. I was shy to use that term until a few years had passed, I had produced, showed and sold a lot. I also felt that the consistency by which I did my artwork was important. wine
