NAKEDMUDPEOPLE: When our teens experience something else, besides this, their minds have been opened to all cultures. Speaking of Mongolia...................
NAKEDMUDPEOPLE: It is all about giving them something to learn and live with. Knowing how others live.
well, i think a parent can teach those things...and it would be a great thing to do with your children and for them with their parents...teachers and the school system have them for 7hrs a day, already...whats next??...teachers gonna teach them how to be tucked in too ??? ....people don't spend enough time with their kids as it is...parents turn their kids over to the schools during the day, and the T.V. at night....is it any wonder that they seem lost ???

I agree that we should not institutionalise our children but we should not wrap them in cotton wool either, let them go and experience life. It is a terrible world when we cannot trust anyone to do the right thing but we should not punish our children for it. There it is our responsiblity as parents to teach them to be safe not to prejuidice them against living.

Yes, you are right about parents giving life experiences to teens. I have always worked hard for my family and If we got the opportunity for her to travel, it was done.

As a single mother, I felt I did institutionalize my daughter. What I did give her were good work ethics. In school she was at the top of her classes and had lots of opportunities and why would I ever deny her the place she has earned.
